Via the wonders of personal posting on this board, I have contacted a "well known poster" and discussed posting this thread. I've supported Saints since 1958, so you can tell I'm getting on a bit, and I have never written to anyone I didn't know. It always struck me as a bit daft, but in the last few weeks I have been tempted to write to Morgan. Had I done so, I would have written this (I am sure that you techie geniuses will be able to translate even my awful French!)

    Salut Morgan,

Do you reckon he might read it?! (Advice on any deletions and addition both appreciated!)

    formidable!

I like the 'Made in Sourhampton' tag. Morgan will certainly go with my blessings, even if I hope it's Arsenal rather than United!! He's class, pure and simple.

I just wonder how good he and Steve Williams would have been as a midfield pairing?

See the old Google Translate struggled with some of the section where I say his selection fror France demostrates his progess and ours with him. Probably my crap French!

Thanks for all the positives. Not living in the area, I wasn't too sure whether my feelings were widely shared. My Man Utd neighbour came out as I was getting into my car this morning, and wanted to know how good Morgan is. How do you answer that?

Morgan was great FOR SAINTS. He does a fantastic job for us but i honestly dont know if he can be anywhere near as effective in a new team. As much as i hated it, i was sure twatbeard was gonna be fantastic at Scousehampton this year (thankfully i was wrong) so I'm no longer willing to bet on any of our players doing well somewhere else. He's got the talent but can he step up/fit in? Impossible to tell.

That's fine and dandy, mate. But I've already blown my street cred here by telling Liverpool fans that Lovren was good when he signed for them. People have long memories!

Nobody could have forseen that though. Anyone could see Lovren was good. Even Gary Neville thought he was the real deal. I know that cuts no ice in Liverpool. :)

Lovren won't have lost his skill...he's just playing at the wrong team with the wrong players. Now his nerve is shot to pieces....hard not to laugh really.

Didn't Oscar Wilde [quoting thread again] say something like... one would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh at...[?]

So you're in good company. :)
