A) can anyone go on Southampton board and explain the concept of big club. B) does anyone remember the start of this month where people were all antsy about not getting anyone and certain people on here we're saying ffs it's only june. Can we say the magnificent 7 when the striker arrives? I like that movie.
Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in Barcelona forward Pedro. The 27-year-old could be allowed to leave for £18m despite signing a new contract this summer. (Talksport, via Mundo Deportivo) Would have taken Pedro prior to getting Firmino but don't think he's the player we need at the moment.
Reckon we'll sruggle to push through a deal at £8mill, think realistic price for him now is more around 6 he's been that ****ing useless at anything with us The guy's a total total dud, wherever he goes it'll be same all over, he's a useless lazy self-obsessed no talent prick and I hope he achieves nothing else in his career
Napoli want £67m - the buyout clause - for Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain, 27, a target for Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan. (Guardian) Sevilla say they have not received any bids for striker Carlos Bacca, and hope that no club meets his buyout clause of £21m. Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the 28-year-old, who scored 28 goals last season. (Independent) Sunderland will push on with their bid to sign Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates, 24, for £4m after Uruguay's exit from the Copa America. (Newcastle Chronicle) Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in Barcelona forward Pedro. The 27-year-old could be allowed to leave for £18m despite signing a new contract this summer. (Talksport, via Mundo Deportivo Carlos Bacca has written a list of clubs he'd like to join and Liverpool are on it, claims Colombian's agent Sergio Barila http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/teampages/liverpool.html
If we get Benteke for £25m, then it will undo all the good work. Pointless signing. Hopefully Barrett is wrong about Benteke being the number 1 target because if he actually is, then we're back to MOTD scouting and no real lessons were learnt from last season. Re. midfield - a midfield trio of Can, Hendo and Milner should be very solid but will it create enough? My concern is that they won't get the ball to the feet of the creative players.
Say what? He's pure class and is still only 28. Southampton He's been linked with United and Chelsea this week ffs
When you are down at this low number you might as Well consider a loan or 3. 2 Mil fee and maybe he scores enough to convince a Turkish club to stump up.
Saints fans not happy with us again... Guess its a new summer tradition we are atarting. It would be hilarious if we sign Alderweireld next :
If Firmino and coutinho do thier jobs I'm pretty sure that midfield trio can pass it to them. None are Sissons who could not even make a 10 yard pass.
I'm pretty confident that I'll be told on this site that milner is so under rated and vital to the cause! Amazingly our best form was with sterling henderson and Allen in front of a static gerrard.
Not really - this is why I'm an advocate of playing Coutinho in a CM position because he can get the ball from deep, beat a player, run at defenders and ultimately create space. It's a big reason why we were so good in 13/14 because he got the ball and got it to SAS and Sterling in the final 3rd. With Henderson - he doesn't have the ability to carry the ball and beat a man, and Milner has done it on the wing but playing in the middle is a big ask. Can can do it but he'll be playing deeper.
The more I think about it - I'm looking forward to seeing a trio of Can, Milner and Hendo. I've been very critical of Hendo but I'm curious to see how our midfield works without having to carry Gerrard. Hendo will have more of a license because he doesn't have to worry about doing the defensive work of 2 players.

God help us if that's the case. I'm guessing the links to Bacca and Rondon were just a ploy to get Villa to lower their price.
