Good luck at Newcastle- remember the day out is a bit of fun!

Lovely maiden at Doncaster at 2pm tomorrow. Godolphin have an Oasis Dream half sister to Finsceal Beo, Sacred Harp, whilst we have a Pivotal out of an Elusive Quality mare (two sires I really like when it comes to maiden races), called Novantae.

Small singles and a reverse forecast.

7.15 Newcastle Goodyearforroses 8/1 e.w looks very interesting. Won a maiden when staying on late to defeat REDSTART and STAR OF SEVILLE no less.

This step up in trip looks sure to suit the pedigree being an by Azamour and out of a Galileo mare and Rae Guest has this entered up in the Yorkshire Oaks and the Nassau, both Group 1 races.

Only quick ground and the fact that this is the reappearance puts me off, hence the e/w.

The 640 looks a mine field malla , Gosdens runner the 2nd fav currently looks the ond to side with (ballihope) doyle has been booked so he is showing his intentions plus balli stepped up to this trip with a win lto. The problem I have though is gosden doesn't catch many breaks here . On the other hand johnson has the untested at the trip fav chadic who seemed to lag a little lto over 2f shorter , mulrennan has been booked who operates smoothly with johnson. Johnson does have a prolific record here too . I think it would have to be a little r/f but I would side withballihope if I had to .
have a great night out and good luck

    Poor day's racing for midsummer.
Race that catches my eye is the 6.20 at Newmarket where some likely looking fillies line up. Godolphin's World's Greatest looks well-bred as a grandaughter of Lammtarra's Seeking the Gold sister. Hannon runs a couple and Moore is probably on the better one, Bahaarah. I hope they go for this one in the market but my selection is Appleby's White Witch (by Invincible Spirit but out of an Argentinian mare so not particularly eyecatching breeding). Mr Appleby has shown a distinct tendency to not overtry his 2yos on their first outing, yet this filly ran a pleasing debut. His second-time-out winning rate however is high. She should be a nice priced winner for the boys in blue.

Yet to have a first time out 2yo winner this season so will have to be a good one to win first up

That Fillies Maiden opening things at The Curragh is normally a good race and this years edition looked decent too.

Very impressive winner..the 3rd,5th and 6th may also be of interest going forward.

    20:05 Chester - Gramercy

(3/1 isn't much of a price but had a bit on at these odds. Speed figures very good. Horse and jockey might need a bit of luck in running though?).
