Do we need another striker now we have 3 available fit ones I think yes, my reasons are, conner wickham amazing potential but still unproven at premeir league level, ji son won seems to of done well in china but again unproven, so until Frazier campbell is back we only have 1 premeir league striker what does everyone else think?

And out of the strikers that we are linked with who would you rather

    JeRmain defo
    Danny welbeck
    Dj Campbell
    Craig bellamy

My choice would be jermain defo! Didn't have the best of seasons last year but a great premier league striker that knows where the goal is and for the 8 million that has been quoted I think thats a snip!

    i would take Defoe definately

£8m is way way over the odds he has no resaleable value and he would have to improve on last years performances

Maybe no resale value but why would you want to sell him? If we put him on a 4 year contract then he would be 32 at the end of his contract. Can you think of a better striker for 8 million?

Defoe, purely on the fact he has a point to proove and we all know he cans core goals.

Welbeck on loan could happen but thats all it will be, a loan.

On his present form even Bothroyd and DJ Campbell are better and i can't stand those two buggers
Don't get me wrong i would love defoe at the club but i think he is overpriced ok ill compromise £4m and add ons if he gets back to his bes.

Harry would be proud of me wheeling and dealing lol

Tend to agree - probably not my first choice (and certainly not if Gyan goes the other way) but would do a decent job for us.

Anyone know if we might be looking at anyone in Germany we might be looking at on the pre-season tour?

One thing is for sure IMO, if we dont bring in at least one more out and out striker before the season starts, then we are going to have a very disappointing season to the one we are all hoping for. Its going to be a long hard struggle without better and proven fire power.

Gyan wont hang about in January as a lone striker, getting kick from arsehole to breakfast time either and that is for sure.

Simply got to bring in the Bent replacement. No question.

We have been promised a replacement for Bent by SNQ.

Long way to go yet in this window.

Bobby - there can be no doubt that Bruce will ot want to go into the new campaign without adequate shooting power. He knows his very future at the club depends on his ability to show he has changed things round. Wickham and Won are exciting young players buit neither has the experience to score 20 goals.

If we could get Defoe and get him back to his old self of 18 months/2years ago then for 10m I'd consider it a bargain.

An experienced Premiership striker is a must in my opinion. The effect of ANC, injuries and calling on inexperienced kids to fill the gaps is a recipe for disaster. Bruce cannot seriously be contemplating leaving the squad as it is, there must be something in the pipeline and I would expect him to deliver soon.

Its as big a risk bringing in a mis-firing Defoe as 2 untried bairns. I dont have an answer to who it should be, but I'm reluctant for it to be Defoe.
