Apparently, some scrutiny committee at the council are getting an update on the Airco situation today.
Apropos of nothing really, I just like the quote. I've searched all the parks in all the cities and found no statues of committees. Gilbert K. Chesterton

@angus_young61: The city council starts legal action against the SMC over 'breach of lease' at the Airco Arena. My story in tomorrow's @hulldailymail
Fair play to the council, I didn't think they had the balls to actually bring this action, presumably this is why Cat 2 status still hasn't been ratified, it was supposed to be confirmed weeks ago. Good news for Rollitts...
Good to hear it looks as if HCC are going to stand up against the Allams, and that their "I can do what I like" attitude might come back and bite them.
It's cute some of you assume HCC will win in any court proceedings. I trust you'll respect the decision of the court even if it doesn't go well for HCC? I thought not.
I've heard on the grapevine (Terry taxidriver) that Allam is dropping the name change to Tigers. He says he does not want to be associated with something that will be extinct in 5 years.
Unfortunately there is a chance that Allam will win in court, in fact I don't think they would have proceeded without making sure they were legally secure. That doesn't make his actions right, nor does it stop what he has done from being immoral, selfish and arrogant. Bad guys win in court all the time, their still bad guys.
Everyone will respect the court's decision. Other than Allam, if he loses, he'll appeal, he always does. Nobody tells him when his court action is over.
They didn't proceed with a name change application after making sure victory was secure, in fact the application was shoddy, amateurish and based on little more that an "I want it so I should get it" attitude. People seem to think that because Allam is wealthy then everything he does must be shrewdly thought out and watertight, but what we've seen from him is the opposite: hubristic impulsivity, rashly made statements and an unwillingness to listen to anyone.
The old man regularly ignores common sense and just does what he fancies regardless of his chances of success, I don't think the fact that they went ahead despite the threat of legal action proves anything at all.
