Standard Liege are being sold according to the Belgian press.
If true I wonder what it means to us?

Well, it could mean this, taken from another Charlton website we will call Anorak Life:

"Maybe Roland has seen the riches available in the PremierLeague, and wants to have a proper go at Charlton".

    <cheers>

Weren't we always told by the Apologists that Roland had a "deep love for money......oops sorry.....Liege" ?

My initial reaction would be Great- he's getting fed up with accumulating clubs, maybe he'll sell us next. Can't see it somehow though.

I think in the immediate future it means more to truiden. Him selling doesn't surprise me as he's reportedly wanted to do it for months, but the timing seems a bit off.

The Nigerian bloke is referring to Leyton Orient according to one of their websites.

Fair play to orient, but for a club that's heading in to a period of grove uncertainty (brought on by west hams stadium move), it wouldn't be the most sensible of investments.

Then again he's a billionaire and I'm on gardening leave <laugh>

Could also be Millwall. I would imagine the African community he speaks off is Peckham as it is the biggest population of Nigerians outside Nigeria apparently

I'd argue peckham is more a place of hipsters these days.

Does this guy west skinny jeans, and wear non prescription glasses?

Thinking aloud - I'm surprised no one has really picked up on the fact RD selling liege comes a year after selling all of their assets and not replacing suitably.

Asset stripped them well there <cheers>

you could argue that he added the value over there. there is noise that he took 20m out of the club last year, but as he owned it, i guess he's entitled to.

if he sold us now, we'd have a championship club still, a lower wage budget and a decent pitch that he couldnt try and take with him. we're where we should have been if slater and jimenez knew what they were doing when they wanted to sell up. let's hope he builds the training ground before doing the off!

He would sell it by the square metre to souvenir hunters. Anything to make a few euros. Anything to spite the fans.

We can only hope that Douche has entered a phase of selling football clubs, and it is our turn next.

I often wonder what Murray thinks these days when he sees the mess he created.

Murray must be feeling sick. He doesn't get his money back if we don't get promoted.

RD's 350 weeks must have made him nervous... RD looks younger than him. he may never see his money again.

I think Duchatelet is here for months to come i'm afraid, I had a peak at the article in a belgian newspaper online earlier and at the bottom there is a message board all in French but my wife teaches it in Bromley and she translated it to me which read along the lines of Standard Liege supporters saying he will spend money in England because he does not want to be involved in Belgian football any longer as he has become disillusioned.
