Firmino is like a perfect BR striker as well. Good movement and flexible can play across the front line or a bit deeper
I hope he does - he's still young and will improve but he's a 1 in 3 striker at the moment and that includes playing in Championship.
Firmino is a number 10 but can play up front also. I would like to see a box midfield of: DM and Can Coutinho and Firmino Problem is, that won't happen because I'm positive Rodgers will shoe horn Hendo and Lallana in somewhere.
Id we buy no one else he'll get 38 games in the league! depending on the formation but 2 up top he could easily play with Sturridge or 433 then he could play wide (although think he's better centrally he said he's happy to play wide early in his career to develop). If if we play the silly Xmas tree formation then that's when he could struggle to start.
Playing for better team creating more/ better chances And he has a bit more experience suggests he should improve but we'll see.
As a 3rd choice striker, I don't have a problem with Ings. But if he used as much as you think he will, then it really highlights just how far this club has fallen.
Looking at his stats he's played the majority of his games as an attacking mid in the No.10 position.
Or we could play the Christmas Tree of Death formation: Henderson------Can------Milner ---------Firmino--------Coutinho--- ----------------Sturridge-------------- Almost like a layered cake, solid midfield/attacking midfield/striker
Seems like you guys will do very well with getting ings on nearly a free especially after that speech. I will boldly predict he wont get 10 goals in the league (probs will get 10 with cups and stuff) as i dont see him getting enough game time. After sturridges year out i expect him to play at least half a season
Hear what you'er saying, but the chances won't go through him like they did at Burnley - he was the main man and everything went through him. He won't get nearly as many chances because there SHOULD be better options to pass to or he won't be starting so he won't be sharp. We saw the same with Adam, Downing, Carroll, Lallana etc - big players at small clubs but when you put them in our team, they dont' see as much of the ball and they struggle.
He's 22, I'm sure he's not exactly set in his ways. and I'm guessing he's versatile enough to play more than one position - otherwise I can't see us shelling out £20m as a backup to Coutinho.
He won't be back up - he'll play alongside Coutinho, or Coutinho will play slightly deeper which IMO is his best position. The only player who should be dropped to make way is Lallana.
I'm really hoping we will though. And I'm hoping Sturridge stays fits for the half the season. And I'm hoping that Origi turns out ok too, despite what happened in France this year. But I do also want Ings to succeed, obviously.
