And if Sterling goes for £50m, Clyne's price is now £18m rising to £22m on appearances thank-you very much

If that is true then Man City are doing exactly what I suggested the other day [and unfortunately got up the nose so much of a roaming Liverpool supporter on this forum] in that they are putting Liverpool in their provincial place, by using sheer buying muscle. They know Sterling isn't worth £50M, nowhere near it. But they are going to deny Liverpool his services and push Liverpool back down where they believe 'Pool should belong, ie below them in the rankings of football clubs. That perception will spread like wild fire amongst professionals and fans alike. Pretty soon that £50M won't seem so great to Liverpool, unless they can turn it into progress like we did when they arrogantly took our players. Personally, I don't think they have it in them.

£50m? Never worth that, if I were Liverpool I would deliver him there myself......staggering amount of money for a player who goes missing a lot.
City's record signing, Aguerro for £38m was a steal; but £50m for Sterling reminds me very much of Robinho.
I hope City walk away now, it will cause so many problems.
