Part of the Irish media unsure on why Shane Long, Ireland's highest ranked Premier League player, doesn't get more than a cameo...

Read down the page onto another topic and found something I had absolutely no idea about. Copied from article:

"Most people will only know them for their exploits on the soccer pitch, but AC Milan Football Club was founded in 1899 by two Englishmen as Milan Cricket and Football Club."

A fair few clubs were started by British ex pats. It's the reason why a few Italia/Spanish clubs have names which are bastardized versions of the local city name. è.g. Milan, Milano.

Also you may have noticed the St George's flag is part of the AC logo

Cheers

Considering my Italian genes I know relatively little about Italian football clubs. Years ago that ignorance would have taken ages to overcome. Think I'll spend a couple of hours on Wiki, over the summer, to get a more rounded knowledge. Should prove to result in a few eye openers for me. No doubt I'll post some of them up here to a chorus of we know..! :)

I was aware of that. We stamp our mark everywhere.

Still 0-0 v Sweden U21....boring play. Desperately need some creativity. Shame after we qualified so well...typical England. Good enough to qualify, but not quite good enough when it comes down to it. 15 Mins to go.

I have watched a fair few minutes of this match, I realise.Tbf, England's passing is crisp and accurate. However, the decision making on the passing options is too slow and more often than not they're making the less risky pass, which also can be read as the pass which retains possession but is less dangerous. Consequently, England have most of the possession and Sweden have been quite happy about it.

Lingard scores 1-0

I don't get why they haven't picked the best for the U21's!

Could be this:

Swap Hughes for JWP, and obviously take out sicknote Shaw, and that's a decent team.

You must have missed the first half an hour. The passing was poor.

Sweden u21s seem really tough to break down. They came back from 1-0 down to beat Italy 2-1 despite going down to 10 men after 27 mins. Decent result to nick it at the end.
