I guess he doesn't get the "end" so I wonder if he understands middle ?
So if they call the end or heel the crust, what do they call the middle bits?
I thought this was going to be about the sitcom set in Liverpool in the late 80's.

That's an old memory right there, ''eat your crusts, they'll make your hair ..........''the crusts surround the outside of a loaf, Billy eats loads of them......
The whole of the outside is the crust, hence making posh sarnies and cutting the crusts off - so why call the end slices which are all crust, anything other than 'crust'.
