He certainly won't get the same game time at City, he made 48 starts for us last season - no way in hell he will get half that at City

Agreed, I find it hard to think of any team that could afford his price where he would start so many games <ok>

I love all the rival fans on one hand saying his not worth it and on the other hand begging lfc to sell.

John Henry will break the little ****er just like he put Suarez in his place.

I am fully confident city will be back cap in hand

Arsenal will not entertain them on whilst ire eithet

I assume by this you think he will not get the game time at another club?

Not so much game time as it is leeway. He'll play plenty in his first season anywhere, but after a while, what then? When he misses the hundred sitters or takes too long on the ball instead of passing? When city inevitably splash the cash on some new starlet who has more shirt sale appeal? Any club in the tier above Liverpool is a club that doesn't get to where they are by waiting years and years for youth to come good. He's just been caught for a second time with laughing gas. He's had a few legal issues. These things are usually accepted by the club where he's being developed, not so much when you're a 45m acquisition. And he doesn't strike me as the sort to get his life together without a lot of support from the manager and the fans.

Man Utd have decided to promote Lukaku to the first team <laugh>

It`s win win for rivals to be honest. If he stays it will be fun to watch the comedy continue, if City pay £50m to sit him on the bench it will be hilarious <ok>

I think Arsenal may let Wilshere go if the offer is good, they have a lot of players for the midfield positions and the money would come in handy for the striker they need to complete the team.

Sterlings off field behaviour will reduce his price if we hold on to him this season. Like to be rid of the d******d asap and spend the money wisely...although I am not hopeful of the latter

sure... but i nthe end.... the hard the deal we drive the better so i think just let it on and we will see when its done.

i would put it as:

they have their price and thier price is the price and they won't budge.

The little rat is trying his best to get out but i can tell you know if he does much more or anyhting worse the arabs won't want him and then he is toast

yuo lads need to realise that 40mil aint all that these days. fans seem to be behind the times on the money madness.

£40m is a kings ransom to FSG, but they want the player so much they are prepared to backheel the dough..<grr>

Sterling is only 20. For 20 he's pretty good but needs some finishing touches, and he's English.

Compared to other prospects like barkley or januzaj.. the club are right not accepting 40m.

sensible view

he can't shoot for **** and will never justdevelope that but if he gets his head out of his arse and works he would be very good.

never a top player but a very good one none the less.

LFC have given him every chance to play and develop and anywhere else he'd be a forgotten lad with one england cap max.

2 good players or 1 very good player and an average player.

What I don't get is Citeh's idiocy. They've been told £50m, so why **** about with low ball offers? Granted they want a good deal, but they are in bad position to be trying that. 1) Everybody knows they're loaded, 2) Their squad needs a massive overhaul, 3) They need English players, 4) They paid 32m for Managala and 28m for Bony. 5) The player has more than 1 year left on his contract.
All that leads to a very poor starting position for buying (its a similar position to what Newcastle found us in over Carroll)

Citeh should just bite the bullet and offer a proper amount of money, they've been told 50m so at the very least they should be offering 40-45million (before add-ons). £5-10million bellow the asking price is a reasonable place to start a negotiation, can't handle that don't make a bid.

yep he owes us, the best thing he can do is a Suarez, sign a deal in the summer with a release clause and decent wages, play a good season to up his worth and let him go next year if he still wants out and offers come

I would hate FSG to overplay their hands. Sterling is wanted by City and sure we should sell him for a good price. But we should be careful about not being too greedy and squeezing the last penny out of the sheiks.

If city do not come back with a third offer, then I am sure who else will bid for him. Will Rodgers be happy to accept an offer from Man U for example? The idea that he could stay and play a leading part for the club this season is fanciful. It looks that he's burnt his bridges and everyone has factored in his departure.

I am so sure city's ego requires this and so does their squad that they will be back. It may not quite be 50 Mil but they will be back.

Or failing that, actually put in a ****ing transfer request. When he did that BBC interview he said it wasn't about money, but about football and the direction of the club. Fair enough (and he has a point, tbf), but all the more reason to put in a request. What's stopping him then, if it's NOT about money?

£40m is enough - providing sterling and/or City are paying all the agents' fees AND he puts in a request: that puts the ball back into Raheem's court to prove he REALLY wants to move, and hat it's not about money.
