While there ain't no footy, I would like a bit of help with some history. When I was a kid living in Verney Road, my father taught me a song that went "I stood in old Kingey's fried fish shop, surrounded by cockles and whelks....." I know the rest but won't write it all down here. Does anyone else know this song? I've taught my own kids and grandkids the song, but we can't find anyone else who knows it. As far as we know, its an old London song, maybe east end, but even searching the web hasn't turned up any references. If you do know of it, please let me know and anything else you know about it. If you don't know, ask your mum and dad, or even grandad. Ta!!
