I've bookmarked your drivel so I can ram it back in your face when it proves to be embarrassingly wrong

See my sig for further details

But as it stands I'm right so you're too scared to quote me

Got it <ok>

Exactly. We'd obviously prefer if he stayed but when you get offered over 40m for a player that is more potential than current ability you'd be crazy not to accept it. In an ideal world we'd have an unlimited cash reserve like Chelsea, Man Utd or Man City and we could splash loads of money on a ready made world class player and still be able to give Sterling the money he wants to stay but we don't have that sort of money to throw around so him leaving is a really good deal for us at the moment.

WTF is the club playing at?

Getting £40m is getting the same as getting £70m with Rodgers as manager. We'll end up with the same ****ing replacements anyway. The only difference is that we will pay £40m for benteke instead of 25m and £30m for others instead of £15m. Rodgers will just pay the adjusted asking price. <doh>

So cynical on the players part. This surfacing a day after we turn down an offer is too coincidental. He's trying to force LFC's hand. If I saw him in the street, I'd throw a brick at his head in the full knowledge that there are very few brain cells that can be damaged! :emoticon-0183-swear

He has burnt his bridges. As I said earlier, if city now backs off, we are ****ed and left with a player who we ****ing don't want and who doesn't want to play for us.

I don't understand LFCs transfer dealings.

They knew Sterling wasn't hanging around, they'll need a replacement....Andre Ayew has just joined us on a free. Surely it would have made sense for Liverpool to sign Ayew?

Rodgers should have signed Ayew and done a deal with Man City early....something like £25m and Dzeko for Sterling.
Then used the £25m to sort the midfield out, a DM and a playmaker.

By the end of June you could have got rid of the Sterling headache and brought in a LW, ST, DM and AM....funded, nearly entirely by Sterling's exit and Gerrard's wages being freed up.
Leaving you free to shop for defenders and backup Goalie at your leisure over the rest of the summer.

Swansea manage to get the majority of our business done early in the summer every year....it looks like bad organisation on Liverpool's part to me.
Why haven't you got rid of the likes of Lucas and Skrtle yet?
Why extend Kolo Toure's contract?
Bogdan?!?!? <laugh>

Toure, no idea. Lucas because he's a very good DM, Skrtel is a good defender. Bogdan is just to sit on the bench but I would suggest there are btter more experienced 2nd keepers we could have got.

Think you'll find Rodgers doesn't pay the transfer fees or agree to the fees of players sold.

You'll also find that Milner will take over Gerrard's paypacket(or near enough)

Lucas isn't a very good DM. He's a mediocre DM because he was naturally a box to box mid and hasn't been trained to play the DM role. The only time has he shone is when the team was awful. Same applies to Skrtel - both players are capable of having worldie games but are largely inconsistent and both are synonymous with our downfall since 2009.

Adam Bogdan is just a nothing signing - I don't care if he's free or coming as back up. It's just another example of a waste of resources, albeit on a smaller scale. Sergio Romero is also on a free but would command higher wages - I would rather spend a little more and get in a good keeper who can at least challenge Migs, than Bogdan who will offer nothing but warming the bench.

Disagree with you completely on the first part but agree on the 2nd.

I know, that's why I said "it looks like bad organisation on Liverpool's part" as opposed to Rodgers'.

At Swansea Jenkins and the boys have the attitude that any player who doesn't want to be here can **** off....this policy has served us well imo.
Too much energy being wasted on the likes of Sterling and Suarez at Liverpool IMO.
Just get rid and replace ASAP I reckon, a harmonious team trumps a team with some talented individuals.

Over the last few years LFC hasn't had a harmonious dressing room I would suggest, as an outsider there seemed to be question marks over the likes of Reina, Gerrard and Agger that dragged on also.

Milner I forgot about, yeah he will be on a good whack....I still reckon it would have been more beneficial to deal with City and get Dzeko.

Sterling and Gerrard's wages = (roughly) Ayew, Milner, Dzeko and at least 1 quality midfielder.
Spend the transfer budget on buying Clyne, a DM, a young reserve Goalie with potential and hire a defensive coach on top and you'd have a team challenging for the Champions League I reckon.

I'd wager that you'd all be feeling more positive about the upcoming season if LFC had done something like this?

Swansea are very well run, Huw Jenkins has done a great job and is the De Factor Director of Football - consistent footballing philosophy.

I haven't got a problem with our star players wanting to leave and I don't blame them - problem is how we replace them, and I have zero faith in Rodgers finding said replacements. We got CL football last season and our biggest targets were Lallana and Lovren - that says it all IMO.

The first team needs 3 changes:

- RCB
- DM
- ST

Essentially, it's a spine. But the biggest change is to come from structural changes on the pitch. We need more structure and discipline, we need our defenders to hold a line, we need a midfield to control games.

Based on what I've seen from Rodgers in the past 3 years, it seems as if he doesn't appreciate the importance of a defence or midfield.
