AFC Wimbledon at home in Capital One Cup, week of 10th August. Neil Ardley returns and their attack will be led by former Swansea City and Barry Town striker Adebayo Akinfenwa. I'm sure he will be made to feel at home. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-face-afc-wimbledon-9462989
May be of more interest, league fixtures due out tomorrow. Who do we want first game? I quite fancy an away day to MK Dons. Big capacity, 32,000, so we would have a good allocation - they never fill it anyway - only got 27k for Manure and 17k for their last home league game of the season. Thoughts anyone?
First game I would want us at home against a team we should beat - someone like Rotherham or Fulham. Just to settle the nerves like. London in the summer is always nice so a trip to QPR or Brentford would be good for our first away game, followed by a curry
So you expect us to beat Rotherham and Fulham next season in the Championship? At the moment I don't think we should make that sort of claim. We were very lucky against Rotherham at the CCS last year and I expect Fulham to be a lot better this season - they've got a very good young team. I'd prefer a baptism of fire and get one of the Prem clubs coming down - QPR at home would do nicely to shake things up.
If there's a fire sale at QPR, getting them first up would be good. I think Burnley and Hull will be strong in this division.
If Hull hang on to Steve Bruce, I can see them going straight back up. It will be nice to welcome Pistol Pete back to the CCS as well..........
Burnley will lose a player or two but have relied more on the team than buying a load of individuals. Bruce, Huddlestone and Livermore could be the key to Hull going back up.
That's a tough August set of 5 fixtures for Slade to get his head around - Fulham, QPR, Blackburn, Wolves and Forest. http://www.football365.com/cardiff-city/9887315/Cardiff-fixtures-Championship-2015-16
