Chelsea likely to sign Falcoa. Despite his awful time at United part of me feels we are missing out on some thing here.
You're not. His legs have gone. It's a great shame but sadly true. Apparently he was hopeless for Colombia yesterday. The theory is he needs football to play his way back into form. He won't be getting that at Chelsea.
So his credentials mean nothing cos you never heard of him. Let me fix it. Lfc linked to guiseppe gomez from charltonito. honest to god.. we psend nowt and the clubs on a bad track. we get linked to a kid and its too much too muc, its not like we are the only club looking lads.. keep an open mind.
behave mito we have been buying ****e for a few seasons now and some are just fed up of it and want to see us signing quality again like we used to, whatever the reason is we should be attracting some decent players, not the constant ****e we have been linked to! we are constantly linked to cheap and cheerful players, i couldn't care less if they have an inho or not.
Lallana played in his best position in the wide position of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 because Rodgers did everything he could to try and justify the signing. He sadly failed not because of injuries or system - but because he's a limited player. To think, we could have got Shaqiri or Firmino for much less.
Personally, I couldn't give a monkeys who we're linked to. I only care about who we actually sign. I'd guess that at least 90% of players we are linked to never arrive.
And Henderson had more assists than Iniesta last season... Creative players offer far more than just the final ball. They're integral to the build up play.
Now your having a pop at Rodgers for playing someone in their correct position? 27 appearances, 5 goals and 3 assists and he's a failure because of what our mad committee paid. If he cost £15m he'd get some credit even though the fee has **** all to do with him
I think he's a failure as you can look at him and just see that he'll get you a bit against the bottom half but the minute he's up against a good team he is toast. 25mil for a player who can't cut it v top 6 = failure.
Nope - having a pop at him for buying a player who simply does not improve our first XI and spending £25m in the process of doing so. Unfortunately, I'm not blinded by Lallana's Cruyff turns and I can see through the 'style' and realise that he lacks substance. And you think 27 appearances, 5 goals and 3 assists is good enough for a player who was supposed to replace Luis Suarez and became a first team regular? I mentioned in another thread, Henderson has more assists than Iniesta this season. Looking soley at goals and assists is all well and good but I like to look beyond that - his overall contribution to gameplay is average at best, but the worst thing is that he bottles pretty much every big game we played. So no, I'm not having a go at Rodgers for playing him in his best position - it's just a shame that a) he felt the need to make a mid table/squad player our marquee signing and b) he didn't play other players in their best positions or play to their strengths.
agreed. though i don't see him as suarez replacement as he was well on before WC and i feel actually he was bought as rodgrs though coutinho was not cutting it so rodgers would have played him or coutinho or sterling in a team with SAS up front. I think he had hasn't quite got it... one trick.
Even at £15m, Lallana is still overpriced. As a squad player, I have no problems with him. But therein lies the problem - we don't need squad players - we need players who can actually take us to the next level. So whilst I may sound harsh, this needs to raise its' levels - I know I'll get accused of being bias towards certain players, but I apply this to every member of the squad including Sakho, Can, Sturridge etc. For example, I think Sakho is a quality centre back but we cannot keep relying on him simply because of his injuries, same with Sturridge. There will come a point where we will need to make big decisions.
Apart from Migs, Sakho and Can - they were consistent and crucial in our big run. But I agree - and this is the problem. We signed too many players who simply aren't at the level that is required.
not even poor couts/ look henderson is a headless chicken but he works hard. allen on the other hand can try but physically he's blown off it. lallana is the same. for lfc to compelte against a top 4 side we need extra energy extra pace and engine and harder work and he can't give it. dirk kuyt is what lfc need not cryuff turns. honest effort but technically limited will get a draw. flicks and trickls will get you a beating when theres nothing to back it.
He's a clever player who looks to play the right way, e.g. trying to make something happen, looking to pass and move to create space etc. Our squad in general is the problem
today? 15mil... hmmmm marginal. sure we need better first team players and now. we do need to raise our level hugely. I totally agree.
I can see your point but Lallana flatters to deceive. He looks like a very stylish footballer who would suit our play but he actually doesn't. He slows down our attack more often than not, and often ruins attacks by doing some turn and losing the opportunity. Trying to play the right way is one thing, and I like that about Adam because at least he has the confidence to get on the ball. But actually doing it/excecuting is another - there is a gulf between Coutinho and Lallana, and that is why Coutinho will be worldie in the future and will end up at Barcelone, whilst LFC will be the pinnacle of Lallana's career.
