There was a time, many, many years ago, when the West Ham way was something to be respected. They sort of brought about some of the modern football tactics, for example zonal marking instead of man-to-man, and firing crosses at the near post instead of the far one. Plus they were amongst the very first to abandon 2-3-5 and went to 4-2-4 or 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. They won one or two things until other clubs caught up, but that's about it. They also had a very fine academy, it has to be admitted. Nowadays, the West Ham way is a bit of a tired old saying. Their academy isn't anything super-special, though granted, it is still better than a lot of them. But the playing style is nothing revolutionary anymore.

I can't help it. Everyone has to have their own little memory of the most laid back manager in the Premier League. Hopefully, you're all at home watching this. And here he is:

Can't believe Liverpool think Sterling is worth £50m......what do they smoke/drink up there?
I believe he is max £10-15m player....goes missing a lot and some games you don't know he is playing until he is subbed off.
Then he scores a great goal and the media go all moist over him again......
If I were Liverpool I would have taken City's offer and driven him there myself.

Now to get off soap box and have a fry up.....

If Lallana is worth £25m then Sterling is worth at least £30m, probably £40m. Plus I think Liverpool are putting trying to put their foot down as they don't want him to go and asking for ridiculous money. I reckon if someone from abroad offered £30m they might be tempted.

Sterling is worth a fair bit more than Lallana. I believe he will become one of the country's best players. At his age he is worth £30mill minimum.

He has the ability to be outstanding and one of our best. I fear that he may just blow it by not focusing on his football.

His first step should be to change agents.

I forgot the biggest factoid, and that was that West Ham won the World Cup Final in 1966. Or so they say, but with Captain defender Bobby Moore, hat-trick striker hero Geoff Hurst, and the remaining goalscorer midfielder Martin Peters all being from WHU you can understand their boast. Personally, I let them have that. It's a fun bit of trivia. Possibly, less charitable people would point out the other players on the pitch who helped them do it.

Silly, silly boy. He potentially has a huge career at his feet, and he messes up at the first chance. Even though it's just a night out, the daily mail readers will be out in force

The being so out of it you lay in the road is the only crazy part to me. His mates etc should have picked him up.

Forget the mail readers - I'm out! It may just be a night out, but it tells you a hell of a lot about the lad. You can see with his attitude on the pitch that he thinks he's made it. I fear he will blow that fabulous talent he has.

Exactly as Beefy says. You make sure this sort of picture doesn't happen.
