I'm with OLM on the Ian Curtis thing. I also found it interesting. Closer is still one of my favorite albums and it always makes me sad thinking about Ian's passing.

Christopher Lee scared the **** out of me when I was a kid. It was good that succeeding generations of kids "discovered" him too. Along with Boris Karloff, he was the ultimate horror icon. No doubt he will continue to haunt us for many more years to come.
Agreed. His films with the late great Peter Cushing are classics.

Kinski was an ace Vampire...

Bit of a month this - it's only the 11th, and here's another one:

Free Jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman has died at the age of 85.

R.I.P.

Personally, Coltrane is more to my taste....

To those Wrestling fans out there, legend 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes has passed away today also, at the age of 69.

Sad news about Christopher Lee. Not a fan of Lord Of the Rings or the newer Star Wars but he made it a bit more watchable. Don't think he should've been wrote out of the last LOTR film.

Anyway it's all about Gremlins 2. Sterling performance by him :)

On a serious note- Man with the Golden Gun & the original Wicker Man were brilliant.

Lee and Ewan McGregor were the only actors who came out of those Star Wars prequels with any credibility.

He's in the extended version of Return of the King - though it is only at the beginning, and he gets his comeuppance. It is a scene that should've stayed in the original cut, despite how long the film was anyways.

Scaramanga is ace, still one of the best Bond baddies. Golden Gun IMO is the best Moore Bond film.

I don't do wrestling these days, when I was a kid back in the 80's he was a big name.

Wonder if Christopher Lees heavy metal album is on Spotify, will have a look later, r.i.p to a great iconic actor
