To be fair Macca wasn't really a flair player which I think is what were talking here! AT easily the best for sheer footballing entertainment. The only one for me that came close was Wegerle when he turned it on which was far less frequent.

For me in my lifetime only Stan was better.

Seems he's a victim of his own success. You forget he did well pre- the promotion season and then was crucial in keeping us up the season after.

While he didn't consistently hit the heights we hoped he still outperformed the majority of ****e around him for most that time. But he is judged by different rules to make the Mike Basset mob feel better.

Considering this is the guy who got us promotion, freed us from tango and cash who short memories aside were dreadful for the club, and gave us a chance to improve and progress. Why haven't any of the other waster and pricks we've had like SWP etc not got the same level of hatred.

And how many of them then went on to sign for one of the top clubs in Europe? Is the penny still not dropping.

Scum bags like Barton who slag the club off and get sent off in crucial games know they can pacify the idiotic masses by saying the right thing at a later date and pull the wool over the dense skull of the average Rangers supporting idiot. This is made all the easier by being a hard working no talent working class English thug. And not a foreign guy of African descent with English as a second language who does step overs and doesn't always track back

Lot of truth in that, and agree in full with all you say about Adel.

But can't quite see how SWP could be hated more on here than he already is, though for me he's just done what most would have done, and just taken the money he was contractually entitled to. He started quite well with us too, but totally lost in about 6 months, whatever self-confidence he had when he came to us.

Because none of them had anywhere near as much talent as Adel, and then went and let that talent waste away......

So why the hatred. In the last 20 years would be extremely difficult to pick in any more than a handful of debatable alternatives that have done more for this club than him

Personally, I don't hate him, but feel very let down by his attitude over the last few seasons, and disappointed that he never let his true talent do the talking for him. There's always going to be some supporters who are more vitriolic in their love of certain players, and this then manifests itself onto the other side of the coin when they let the team down.

I'm glad he's going, it's time the club and us fans moved on from Adel and found a new hero to worship. He was a joy to watch in our Championship season, but for whatever reason has not recreated that since - goodbye Adel, it was nice while it lasted!

I don't think I've ever know a player to be so divisive amongst QPR fans. Personally I'm as glad to see the back of him as I was SWP.
I'm in the fortunate position to have seen many better players than him pull on the hoops.

Can't have been many better than Adel in the Championship season.

I always thought is was a combination of Curle and Warnock, I seem to remember he did a lot of celebrations with Curle and I always had the impression that it was Curle and not Warnock that had the special bond with AT

I noted that too, one game in particular after he scored a sublime goal that left Warnock & Curle shaking their heads in admiration. Might have been v Swansea in that 4-1 win?

Perhaps they also shared some common interests?

Just my opinion of course, Marsh, Bowles, Wegerle, Byrne, Givens, Thomas, Venebles to name but a few.
Wegerle was a plastic marsh. Lived off that goal at Leeds for years. Byrne too slow. Givens was great getting us into Div 1 but then used to bottle chances - you know never run into a position where he could score. Thomas was thick and predictable as soon as sexton went he was useless. Venables was yards too slow.

Rangers were a one man team with Rodney and he was the best I have seen. Stan was great too, but he did play in a good rangers team.

Adel was something special and I am pretty sure he was voted best championship player that year we went up. He did struggle in the prem and when Tony started throwing his money about Neil got all star struck and put Barton and SWP on a pedestal and kind of marginalised Adel... And it all want downhill from there.
