Great performance from a great horse - never looked like being headed. Amazing scenes of celebration in the packed stands on a great day for American racing.

Did you hear the crowd, even as they went down the back? And how do they get the sound of the horses running? No matter where they are on the track, you can clearly hear it. Is it dubbed?

The Pharoah wins!! I've a bad hangover. I'd love to be on what he was injected with pre race now. A lil' pick me up would get me right as rain!

As Oddy said, they use proximity microphones, just like they use in most sports these days. At the European Cup final, you could still hear the players kicking the ball despite the crowd noise. At the cricket, you can still hear the bat hitting the ball despite the crowd.

Now that the Americans have another Triple Crown hero that will be all that we hear about from that side of The Pond. He must already be favourite for the Breeders’ Cup Classic. The horse showed the versatility that is required of a true champion so well done to Bob Baffert and the connections.

Both the Kentucky Derby and the Epsom Derby won this year by owner breeders. Coolmore will be happy with the result at Belmont Park as they have bought the stud rights to American Pharoah and he will stand at Ashford Stud in Kentucky when he retires at the end of the season.

I watched it live and thought it was boring. Hate US coverage and the commentary could suck the life out of any great sporting event.

A great effort from American Pharaoh to win all 3 races, what a star he is!

As soon as they got to the first bend I knew the race was in the bag for him. His rivals didn't give themselves much hope by allowing him a soft lead, and letting him dictate a steady pace, to ensure he'd get the trip:biggrin:

That was the 2nd fastest Belmont Stakes time by a triple crown winner - 2nd only to the superb Secreteriat !!

No chance in hell, unless they are stupid enough to run Golden Horn on dirt in the Classic.

Ravens Pass obviously won the Classic for Gosden, but that race was on a synthetic surface which is easier for turf horses to adapt to. Having said that Ravens Pass did have an American pedigree which probably helped him adapt.

Since the classic has been moved back to dirt, I don't think we're likely to see another European winner, as it just doesn't suit turf bred horses

Wouldn't be Suprised to see him shipped away to stud after the eclipse! Can't see him goin to the arc! And champions day always has the word soft in the going so eclipse maybe his last race - An unbeaten Derby winner that will produce some nice Stud fees!!

You could be right, I don't think they'd run in either the Arc or champions day if it's soft. Who knows though there is the breeders cup turf afterwards, so they could be tempted to sign off in that.

As far as his fee is concerned, I'd imagine it'll be a lot, but he won't fetch as much as last years Derby winner Australia.

Juddmonte is ideal so I would be shocked if he didn't turn up at York
