Just noticed a Michael Attwater horse being backed down from 33's to 10's in the last at Lingfield tomorrow evening. Whilst it's not accurate to say Rab Havlin is there for one ride his only other is a 66-1 shot. It at least looks like they fancy it and the race does not have any really standout horses within it. Lingfield 8.35 Kicking the Can
Brendon Rodgers and Liverpool sending out a serious message to the whole of Europe with the massive signings of James Milner and now Danny Ings. The league is guaranteed already.
Just tried to place a tenner E/W @ 10/1 on Betfair Sportsbook account but was restricted to $6.65 E/W, I wonder what price he'll go off at? Good Luck
10/1 with pp and ladbrokes. Is it a price correction from an over generous bookie or were bigger prices across the board? Cant access pc currently!!
Been backed from 33/1 -but it wouldn't take a lot in that race to worry the bookies -weak race. Stick might know more.....
I don't think it was a correction as it came down in stages fro 33 -16 14 10 and now 8. As Rudie says not a big betting race so would not take too many punters to make an impression but coupled with the fact Rab must have better things to do on a Tuesday evening I would say they fancy it.
I know its not a football thread .. but liverpools fall from grace continues apace with these type of buys . It's unfair to Ings and to the supporters . The real answer is to 1. Modify the ambition for the club or 2. Get a manager that is backed bigtime by the owners and can deliver quality players to the club that deliver .. The Brodge will be gone by Xmas ..... The longer they leave it the harder it wil be to get anywhere near the CL spots ... Now Stick .. the Attwater gamble - tell me more of this 'yard money' please ?
Morning, crew. Hope everyone well. Royal Ascot starts a week today so I hope everyone has begun the process of dusting down their toppers. Good, good. The filly that Mr Candy sends to lovely, leafy, Lingers this evening, LA RIOJA (6.30), is expected to prove well above average in time but the presence of a Hannon hotpot in today’s race does temper enthusiasm re La Rioja somewhat down on the old polytrack. In saying that I would still expect a big run from the old girl on debut. Well I’m on, people, if you get the chance have a look at the 17 furlong maiden hurdle at Aintree on Friday eve. That Ferguson chap, who I thought, for a moment, on Saturday after Buratino won was going to challenge Simon Crisford’s world record of saying ‘Sheikh Mohammed’ 51 times in one interview, has 2 unraced hurdlers entered – Nabucco and Penglai Pavilion. Both were high class on the level with peak official perches of 109 and 118 respectively. 2 of the best to make the code switch in recent terms. But will they be any good at hurdling, mewonders??? Good luck, pilgrims.
I'm not a big punter Cyclonic, max bet these days 25 YoYo's E/W (Normal bet 5-10) but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to get any of the so called "Leading Bookmakers" to lay my bets at advertised prices, they will lay any amount at S.P. because they can shrink the market by laying-off on track? In these days of on-line gambling, bookmakers seem to have restrictions written into their software, once you back a few winners at fancy prices they automatically start to restrict your bets, the software doesn't seem to take into account the amount of losers you back! On this years Grand National I had a tenner E/W bet on Rocky Creek @ 10/1 Fav restricted to 6.65 E/W, how ridiculous is that! Good Luck
Roscommon 6.10 MR BOSS MAN 5/1 Hacked up last day. Deeper waters today but seriously, seriously overpriced
Really like the price of 20s on bonding mist and the weight looks bang on without the above average 7lb claimer 425 Salisbury Fontwell 210 easily pleased 240 back in June 340 andi amu
I remember backing that Penglai Pavilion on the flat and it was a decent animal. They will surely have some idea of whether it is able to dodge those obstacles that they insist on sticking in the way, so if there is support for it on Friday morning some of the Ferguson millions must be being shovelled on it.
With Zawraq now on the easy list, Jack Hobbs is down to Even money for the Irish Derby on a track that should suit him. Would part-owners Godolphin veto running him in the St Leger (currently 20/1)? How much say do they have? Current ante post favourite is Storm The Stars at 8/1 but chances are that by the day of the race something of Gosden’s will have won one of the St Leger trials or Aidan O’Brien will have come up with a couple of plodders to dominate the market.
