Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Mateo Kovacic and Samuel Umtiti Rumours By Matt Jones, Featured Columnist Jun 7, 2015 please log in to view this image Marco Luzzani/Getty Images Liverpool have reportedly agreed to terms with Croatia and Internazionale midfielder Mateo Kovacic ahead of a summer transfer. According to Croatian newspaper Vecernji List (h/t Ben Jefferson of the Daily Express), the 21-year-old has already settled on personal terms, but a fee has yet to be agreed upon between the two clubs. It’s noted that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will “pay whatever it takes” to bring the midfield talent to Merseyside and the Serie A side are hoping for £20 million. Here’s a look at the kind of quality Kovacic could add to the Liverpool midfield: eet The playmaker definitely fits the blueprint Rodgers adheres to when signing players. He’s undeniably talented, has a malleable set of attributes and would be afforded the opportunity to grow as a footballer at Anfield. please log in to view this image http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=liverpool Marco Luzzani/Getty Images Kovacic would be a brilliant capture for Liverpool. Nooruddean Choudry of Joe.co.uk, a Manchester United supporter, doesn’t want his team’s rivals landing the midfield star: The chance to play for a club like Liverpool is an opportunity Kovacic would surely relish. While Inter do boast massive prestige, the team has fallen on tough times as of late, and potential forays into the Champions League seem a long way off. Admittedly the same could also be said of Liverpool. Nonetheless, the club have still been able to attract talent like James Milner to Anfield. Bleacher Report’s Sam Tighe took a look at where he’s likely to fit in: Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Carlos Tevez and Mateo Kovacic Rumours By Nick Akerman, Featured Columnist Jun 8, 2015 Use your ← → (arrow) keys to browse more stories please log in to view this image Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images Liverpool are in the "driving seat" to sign Juventus striker Carlos Tevez, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Colin Harvey of the Daily Star). The Argentinian striker is being "tipped" to leave Turin after leading Juve to Serie A and Coppa Italia titles, not to mention defeat against Barcelona in Saturday's Champions League final. Harvey's report indicates Liverpool are front-runners "if Tevez decides he wants to leave." He netted 27 goals and provided eight assists in 45 matches across the Italian division and Europe during the 2014-15 campaign, per WhoScored.com. please log in to view this image Matthias Hangst/Getty Images Tevez used to play for Liverpool's fierce rivals Manchester United, where he won two Premier League titles, the League Cup, the Community Shield, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, before moving to Manchester City and capturing three more English trophies. He started his English career with West Ham United in 2006, having previously represented Boca Juniors and Corinthians in South America. Tevez's willingness to play for City, one of United's rivals, suggests he could entertain the idea of heading to Anfield. Sport Witness notes that, although reports in Italy, such as Corriere dello Sport's, indicate he is likely to leave, Liverpool aren't being discussed:
Kovacic deal is not on the radar according to LFC statement. So we can forget that one then, or can we?
No not now, he isn't the Alonso of 2/3 years ago and it's best to leave the good memories of him where they are.
"Liverpool could yet return with a £3.5m bid for Kieran Trippier as they are hesitant over bidding the full £15m asking price for Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne. They will also sign Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on a free transfer but have distanced themselves from a bid for Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic while no enquiries have been made for Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb either." According to Simon Jones in the Daily Fail
I'm not sure which bit of news to get more excited about... Bolton keeper on a free? Tottenham reject? another relegated player?
Nah, better than what we have (bar flanno) but just another walker to me... Quick and half decent going forward but nothing special. Not worth £15m that's for sure
Bentaleb isn't a reject.. He's not too bad to be fair but I think he's just a younger joe Allen. Not an attacking midfielder or a defensvive one just one that'll do a decent job linking up play
Don't think I need to say anything on the Tevez front Love Alonso but no. Wouldn't suit our fat paced pressing style IMO. Neither of them are a patch on Flanno... Agreed.
