They have been rumored for 5 years i think... but sure anything could happen!
The previous Chariman of the VAG group squashed it partially due to his dislike of Ecclestone, but he's now toast, so those who've been pushing for it within the organisation have got a free run at it if they can put a sensible proposition together. I think it'll happen personally.

that is indeed true. he has been removed.

I think they'll want to see a very clear rule book though. you'd really want the car under design by now.

They'll only want to enter if they can compete at the top.

So I wouldn't expect them to launch a branded car from day 1. They could do a deal with a team, fit their car with the new engine in season 1, but operating under the teams current brand, say for example - Torro Rosso <whistle>, but have a deal in place to take the team over and rebrand it at the end of the season when they'd cut their teeth and would be happy to put their own name to it.

My colleague, the season ticket holder, has just shown me a photograph of Ayre talking to his mate in a pub at the weekend, saying Ings was done 8 weeks ago and to put all the money he has on Ings coming to us

Is it any wonder lots of stuff comes out in the press when Ayre is gobbing off after a few beers to strangers in a pub

Who'll want to ride that ride now?? Or any of their other fast ones with all the stories about untrained and incompetent staff (kids) operating things

It'll cost their insurers a £m or 2, and them a fortune in revenue this season, but it won't finish them.

Ultimately this accident was due to human error, so it highlights the importance of H&S at these places. You can be assured that places like Alton Towers will see this as a wake up call, but for me it casts a bigger shadow over the gypo fair rides that people entrust their lives to in parks up and down the land and are put together and taken apart every few days.

So the Chief Executive isn't allowed a social life? Gotcha <ok>
He's not entitled to share information about club business to some randoms in an alehouse, no.

It's mega unprofessional, "lump on this lad" is completely unbefitting of his role.

The ride might be finished but the park wont

Its the same when you hear of a plane crash. The amount of times these rides go round and how many times something bad happens is exactly like planes crashing

People would have forgot about this in a year or so except the poor people who were injured

Very reluctant to go on fairground rides run by gippos haven't done in years tbf. But I'm also reluctant about 'proper' theme park rides as well since you're reliant on the spotty teenager on their summer job pressing the buttons having proper training and some common sense. I do go on those though. Maybe because the people work the same ride for years at fairgrounds it's actually safer than having some kid who's only doing the job for a few months before going back to school and has been employed quickly.<laugh>
