OK I did it. My score is 112 Normal or average intelligence.

I'm happy with that being I also guessed most the number sequence ones. I was a bit shy as the last time I tried one of these online IQ test's it had me down as a complete numpty and I sulked<laugh>

Yeah i know :emoticon-0103-cool:

There are lots of these bogus IQ Test sites dotted around the internet that are designed to fool you into clicking on the ads. The only true indication of your IQ score is to be Mensa tested.

https://www.mensa.org.uk/
Going throught that rigmarole would imply that the score really mattered to you. Which means that you may be very bright in a certain way, but also have some kind of personality disorder.

The scores tell you how good you are at taking the tests. You can train yourself to be very good at this, but why would you bother?

144. I've done the Mensa one (and then demonstrated my stupidity by subscribing to a magazine I never read and a group I never participated in for several years).

It's just patterns and can be learnt so, as SB says, is highly flawed (although I suppose you demonstrate a certain intelligence by maximising your score).

IQ is just one type of intelligence anyway along with many others (memory, intuition, the latest favourite - social intelligence and so on).

IQ would call me a genius and my social intelligence would have me as backward (I have thought about having myself tested for Aspergers) so it's just one way to try to put a number on an immeasurable quantity.

Indeed, I thought virtually the same thing when I looked at their site. It does seem to be a lot of bother to go to for what end? If say, you were at a party and someone randomly dropped their IQ score into the conversation, then what? It's probably more of a discussion killer than starter, a bit like someone telling you that they're in IT and you just find yourself staring into the middle distance wishing you were some place else.

142 - but I don't think it's a test of intelligence - it's more whether you can work out patterns and sequences.

Last time I tried one of these online many years ago, it came out at 99 so I think all of them are dubious.

I read somewhere (long before he died and the press exposed his odious lifestyle) that Jimmy Savile scored 160+ for IQ......
