The first thing Dick needs to do is to tie down Lee Caattermole on a 6 year contract.

I don't know what 4-6 players he has in mind but let's hope they are real first team improvements.

What can we expect next season?
In the league and cups I reckon Dick will finish half way up and get a semi.

You have to admire Congerton and Short for the way they have handled Dick. I didn't fancy any of the other names being bandied about. Dick seems to be able to know how to get inside the players heads by being hard or soft with them depending on the type of person they are. I reckon he can stand proud at the end of the season and maybe, just maybe, Short can hold on to him a little while longer or until a suitable replacement can be found to fit in when Dick eventually withdraws.

When he does pull out he will leave a big hole to be filled.

If you like Dick it promises to be a good season.

I Agree that it is vital that things don't get out of hand,and that the Club and fans all pull together,not just at the start of the season, but all the way to the climax.

I just hope he can handle some of them pussies in the squad! He'll need to take hard line with them!

Four years ago today the Swans set themselves a new transfer record when they paid Watford £3.5m for the services of Danny Graham to spearhead our attack in our first season in the Premier League.


It was almost a dream come true for Swans fans who for so long had seen our transfer record be the transfer of Colin Irwin back in 1981. As we approached the Premier League though that was changing and Scott Sinclair was top of the pile until we put pen to paper to complete the deal for Graham.

Speaking on completion of the transfer, Huw Jenkins said "Danny has also spoken to Brendan (Rodgers) at length. He is thrilled to conclude the deal and is looking forward to the challenge of Premier League football with Swansea

"He is a player we have admired for quite some time and as a football club we are delighted to get our man."

The signature of Graham when you now look back is the first of four strikers who have led the line for Swansea during a Premier League campaign with three of them now moved on from the club - albeit one of them only currently on loan.

Danny Graham headed North to Sunderland in January 2013, Michu departed on loan at the start of last season whilst WIlfried Bony is the most expensive Swansea City player ever both inwards and outwards and currently plies his trade at Manchester City following his move in the last transfer window.

Each of them has played a massive part in the Swans progression as a Premier League club and, as we look forward to our fifth year in this division, we wonder what will happen next to our main strikers at the club.

Gomis stepped up brilliantly last season when Bony left for the Etihad Stadium and will start next season in pole position but you cannot help but wonder what kind of striker Garry Monk is looking for at this point in time.

The other thing that the four strikers have in common is that there has generally been little back up to them with Schechter, Vazquez, N'gog and Oliviera being examples of that.

What we really need is a quality viable alternative to come off the bench if Gomis was injured or even if he was out of form. And that is why the reports linking us with the likes of Simeone and Rhodes are interesting to read whether they have any substance in them or not.

The other lesson you can possibly learn from the names in the article heading is that they - like so many before them - have all failed to match the levels that they hit here at the club and that is a lesson for anyone with an eye on the exit door this summer.
