I agree - I think he would be a very good squad option, and that's why I'm happy to some extent. <ok>

that's being silly why not just reduce it down next to i can only pick the one under 25?

I have 3 CM spots FFS... 4-3-3.... milner henderson and can... the alternative as you speak is lucas, allen, nobody... this is not rocket science here.

I think comparing Milner and Henderson is more realistic. Who's better?

    -

One concern of mine. What if Rodgers has literally signed Milner to replace Gerrard and plays him in DM?

The point I'm trying to make is who would you pick based on actual ability - disregarding fees, or experience.

Who is the better player in the here and now.

That would be madness and would confirm Rodgers's status as a clueless manager. <ok>

Milner is. Can's game needs some refining and his fitness needs some work.

Milner is a goal scorer like Gerrard, and he prefers to play in the middle.

but why... we need more than just one or other... and we have both so why pick between the two.

surely you should be asking if anything kovacic or milner.. we just got one and the rumours of 15mi lfor kovacic could now trun out to be our reserve position or false. if we don't get kovacic and we do have milner are you coing to complain about that more loudly?

surely thats mroe relevant as i think both will pay in our team next year. I hope rodgers has the sense to put can at CM notCB.

oh and right here right now of course milner is the better player.

in 2/3 years can will be... thats also obvious.

    remember LFC have right now

    Lucas (can't run, no pace)
    Allen (lightweight)
Henderson (headless chicken with growing ego)
Can (played at RB, needs to be given a go at CM)

thats our 4... no gerrard, certinly neither coutinho nor lallan to my mind should be asked to play cm.. acm perhaps in a 4-2-3-1.

are we seriously saying its can or miner and not we have just signed up a player that improves our squad and is much much better than either lucas or allen.

Anyone remember last oct/nov and wathcing lucas play CM for rodgers not DCM and have gerrard behind.. .it was TERRIBLE.

think on... this improves our lot...

Fair points. As I say, it's a case of seeing which player you would prefer to start right away.

Personally, I think Can offers more than Milner.

It's quite close when you think about it but for me, it highlights the biggest myth in football which is experience. Take that out and assess the player's actual ability.

Gerrard was a better player at 25 than 34. He was a better player at 25 than Milner is at 29 despite not winning titles.

Coutinho at 22 is far better than Lallana who is 26.

Either Allen or Lucas has to go.

And no MITO - the point I'm making isn't a straight do or die between Milner or Can. I was curious to see if people can look beyond age, titles and experience, and just focus on pure football ability. <ok>

I'd really like to see a decent holding playerwho can pass it well come in now. Illaramendi for example.

I'm also increasingly wanting us to signing Jovetic and a wide forward who can drive ahead of him and score, like Walcott or Pedro.

    -------Illaramendi---Milner-----
    ---------------Coutinho-------------
    ---Pedro-------------------Lallana
    -----------------Jovetic--------------

That team is for until Sturridge is fit. After that he can partner Jovetic in front of a diamond. It also assumes Sterling leaves.

I'm a big fan of Illaramendi and certinaly Xabi-esque. He's good defensively but he would operate far better with a real DM/destroyer next to him.

Kondogbia would be my ideal choice.

Jovetic is taleneted but his injuries are a big concern. Maybe worth a punt at the right price.

by all means if we get another holding player that would be great.

seeing the back of lucas (sad as that is after injury) allen (never right) etc would be good. I'd contend lallana is nothing but a single trick and a ahir cut mind.

    The more quality the better

Milner is just a good solid player... he's not a top top player obviously but he is good and better than the mid tbale stuff we have.
