John Marquis has signed an extension to his contract which is good news on two fronts, first Hollowhead loaned him out to Gillingham last season and told him he had no future at Millwall and second he is a Millwall fan who always trys and hopefully has found the form to earn a extended contract. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32900846
Pleasantly surprised Stu with his pikey form last season, thought he'd sign for them though as they'll pretty much guarantee him first team action which I don't see us doing. Maybe Jimmy will sign on the back of this as well as I can't see anyone else wanting him.
O'Brien has signed a new 2 year deal with the option of another year and Nelson has signed 3 year deal. No mention of Fred but some think he's already signed. http://www.newsatden.co.uk/48600-promising-millwall-duo-pen-new-long-term-deals.html Good lads and well done bomber building with the youth for the future which is the way to go.
Just checking I have this right. You are resigning the players that werent good enough to keep you up? and you are happy with this because? Can anyone see the obvious flaw in this plan?
So they must be even worse than the ones that got you relegated. And you see this as positive news. I will never understand you wallies.
These are players that came through our youth system with rave reviews and high hopes and then were over looked or loaned out by Hollowhead while he insisted on changing the side and tactics game after game until it was too late. The core of our side next season are homegrown and near on all the management are former players who know what Millwall are all about, so i can't wait for a new chapter in Millwall's history, hopefully we'll win a few more games as well!!
Win a few more games? I hope we win a lot more games than last season. A few more games would see us just about mid table on what we did last season. Bye-the-bye, Chelski managed to beat one of our local teams 1-0 last night. Of course, it was only a friendly/exhibition match but it really showed up the difference in the quality of the EPL and the Australian equivalent (if you can stretch your imagination that far). Last week the same team played Spurs, also 1-0. Same comment.
