Only lucky enough to go once because of my age... But from what I witnessed and what others have told me it had the best atmosphere of any ground!!!!!
red flag, everyone who ever visited the Den have a story to tell, i've been to hundreds of grounds(old and new) and there isn't many i could really get excited about telling a story of what it was like, none that would be interesting enough to talk about.
red flag - the only story's about "The Valley" are when you played against us - and those story's aint about anoracks
First ground I ever went where the ground was the toilet.Once a few wall fans started to wash it had to go.
must be an old pic as the old bill paraded on the hill stopping people watching for free, i was in the far right corner standing on the floodlight concrete plinth, happy days.
Happy days indeed - but the old place had served us well but it was way beyond it's sell by date....I'm more than comfortable at our new fortress and even my missus don't mind coming along now! (is that good or bad!!!)
Loved the old place as a kid still got a scar over my left eye from being crushed against the fencing when the surge came down the terracing when we scored. There will never be a place like it again
Did it make you feel sick coming to The Den? Never mind Eyetie your not alone, Most fans were nervous.
