Up to now out of all the names mentioned i would opt for Cocu. Having said that, i can sometimes be a bit fickle lol so will probs change my mind shortly haha...
Just holding on to the fact that we probably don't know yet, I would have taken Big Sam or McClaren over any others on the horizon at the moment...just don't trust Congerton at all, he must be made of teflon to have escaped the chop after the last 18 months.
Not much, looked at his career win percentage which is 46.17% and his last job was a disaster. But I know nothing of his management style. Gonads is the man in the Know on European footy
I trust him more than anyone else. He picked Dick, He convinced Dick and those actions saved us our league status and saved us from financial chaos. We need invest ment, that's down to short. Our squad was full of holes and Congerton got 15m to work with. What do you want from him? He works with what he's got, he wrangled an amazing deal where we swapped a player who couldn't score for toffee for an experience premiership striker who's goals help keep us up. If I blame him for anything it was giving Gus too much say on transfers but when I look at the bigger picture it isn't much of an issue now.
Benitez back on the market no the Italian season finished and I think the newspaper connection to Real Madrid is a bit far fetched.
Coincidence that the only player you will concede as a troublemaker in that group is the one most consider as useless? I've seen this quite a lot from a fair few of you, a lot of people saying that getting rid of the bad eggs from the dressing room is just as important as who the new manager is...but those same people refusing to acknowledge that any of the decent players could be in that group. Can't have it both ways. What do you lads really want?
@Typical_Juan don't you know anything about this board You simply cannot question Lee Cattermole without expecting to be shot the **** down. It's a really weird habit of Sunderland fans yet strangely endearing.
By the way, Cocu appears to be on the horizon for you lot. I think that could just be an excellent appointment.
Shut up you **** stirring bugger it was a misunderstanding. Can't help yourself can you? everytime you post. ;P
Don't be so touchy man ya dafty Talksport mentioned earlier that Cocu to Sunderland was looking very likely, just read through some stuff on Twitter and now clearly it was just an internet hoax or something Who's your realistic choice then Funky, assuming Bielsa and Klopp are slightly out of reach
I'm not fella, it was tongue in cheek, just messed the smiley up I don't know fella. The Press are all over the shop targeting the default names from the bookies list, The Cocu situation proves how easily odds are manipulated and how gullible the press are, didn't take you long to find out it was a hoax, Journos who can't be arsed to do 5 minutes of research to find the truth means the only Journo I'm listening to is Chris Young and he says nothing is imminent, that combined with the press and bookies being nowhere on dick until it a sure thing tells me it could be nobody on the present odds list. I'll give whoever my backing but have no preference. On the face it goes from non inspiring to unattainable with nothing in between. Out of the 'favorites' it would be McClaren but still not overly fussed. Fence sitting with great interest mate.
Must admit to getting a bit bored with it now tbh. Neither the bookies nor the media nor anybody else has a clue as to what`s happening. I don`t think we can do much else than to trust Congerton. He got DA in which was a life saver and one which I doubt any of us expected. I suspect (and hope) that Ellis is now getting better advice than he`s ever had. Lord knows the board haven`t exactly excelled up to now.
Haven't you got some hill to sit on in your poncho playing a flute to some orphans or something? Seriously, I was just speculating mate, the kid could be a great influence in the dressing room for all I know. Obviously a fans favourite round these parts. Seems Di Canio didn't think much of him, but you could probably say that about every player under Di Canio.
No idea who might be the new manager but it seems all decisions on new contracts etc and that presumably includes recruitment are on hold so need something to happen quickly.
