Should Wolfswinkel come back to norwich or not?

Snodders gave his all for our club, always worked hard and had a fantastic season tot he best of his abilities.

Yes, he has some shortcomings, but they weren't what relegated us - he did more than any player to try to save us from relegation when you compare his efforts to the likes of Fer or even Bassong in the second half of the season. And he deserved player of the season IMO.

Yes, he definitely unbalanced the squad, but you can hardly blame him for playing his own way - it's up to the manager to balance it. He deserves plaudits for his efforts and the respect that his passion and skills deserves

I think you're reading into what has been said a little too much, never once blamed Snodgrass for relegation, just saying that in my opinion players like RVW struggled with midfielders like Snodgrass supplying them.

RVW got dragged through the mud by a lot of fans and I would like to see Neil give him another chance, as I don't think he got good enough service at the time.

No need to apologise for having an opinion. Either way Snodgrass is old news and we now have millions in the bank to buy a much better player!

Raking over old ground, I know, but I can't resist.

You couldn't fault Snodgrass for effort and for passion, but I really do believe he was one of the main reasons we had such an awful season. He is just too selfish for team sports. It's no use being POTS if you achieve that at the expense of the team as a whole. The only way you can be that selfish and get away with it in football is if you are at genius level, which he clearly isn't.

He needed (and needs) a manager who'll slap him firmly into line. Then he could be a real asset for some club.

Going back to the OP, the way forward seems fairly straight forward to me. If St Etienne stump up the required $'s in the contract then decision made. If not, RvW comes back for pre-season and AN gets a few weeks to see what he can do. I'd personally love to see him back and working under AN. I can't agree with any of the chat about him not being physical enough either... This is 2015 in the PL. Most centre forwards seem to spend half the game on their arse looking for a penalty anyway.

I think you do need to have a minimum amount of bulk in order to compete properly. I am not saying that you have to be built like Holt but if you are too easily shrugged off the ball then you cannot fulfil your centre forward role. The same is a concern for Hoolahan and was proved to be the case in the last Premiership season. That is just the way it is Hairy in my opinion.

Jermaine Defoe? Gary Lineaker? Wes Hoolahan? And many more. If you are good enough in the modern game, it matters not your size. It is just a matter of AN evaluating him, if St Ettiene decline the chance to sign him.

i would like to see him get another chance, the lad is a international at the end of the day.i saw enough in him to see he was a good footballer, but he did not get well served before and was clearly playing with zero confidence. i think A.N could make all the diference. my big concern about him is the physical aspect,he seemed a bit lightweight for the english game

If anyone can get him to play our boss can but can't see him getting ahead of Hooper and Grabban

If he comes back and has another blank season he will be worthless probably best to try get what we can for him now

Whatever AN chooses to do gets my vote!

I'm not sure why so many voters want RvW back. Irrespective of what happened last season, he's no exactly setting the world of fire at St Etienne, is he?

We know that he has the potential at his age to be a regular Holland International .
Ricky seems like a nice down to earth guy and we don't want to make a loss on him only to see him bang in 20 goals for another team .
It would also be good to let Neil try and fit him into his team.

a good test of his man management and motivational skills - though, having seen how he's transformed Bassong, Whitts, Bradders etc, those are not really in doubt <ok>

Before RVW joined us he was scoring goals on a regular basis for Porto. Hughton destroyed his confidence with his negative, defensive tactics. imo I would have him back but unlike Hughton who would pick him for nearly every match he was available for if he scored or not I would make him fight for his place in the team. I believe there is a good player in there, you do not become a bad player overnight. Let us also not forget he had a period where he was injured and had he taken that penalty against Villa and scored instead of Snodgrass (who missed) I think his confidence would have grown and he may have gone on to score more in the league. I'd also like to ask how many premier league goals do you think Liverpool's Mario Balotelli scored this season - answer - 1 and they paid £16m for 16 premier league appearances, 10 sub appearances with a conversion rate of 3% and a cost of £1m for each starting appearance, doesn't make RVW look such a bad player after all does it? He just needs his confidence and belief in himself restoring and I believe Alex Neil could do that

Spot on. It was a McNally signing and it always ends in tears when Chief Execs spot a 'bargain'. He would never figure in AN's 4-5-1 and the club should sell before his contract becomes an issue. He'd suit Bournemouth I would think.

I don't think anyone (apart from yourself) believes he was a McNally signing.

I would imagine AN will sit down and ask him why it all went wrong and take it from there.
