I'm not meaning to have a go at you or him. He is obviously close or has close contacts, I just feel that he clearly isn't going to be right all the time, things change instantly and especially in a big business like our club. Hopefully he is wrong on this front and Rodgers is rightly sacked.

Good argument. Here are my comments:

-Sure Rodgers chopped and changed tactics, but also struggled with injuries. - which injuries did we suffer? Sakho and Sturridge are the only 2 key ones I can think. United and Arsenal have suffered far more.

-Sure Rodgers made some poor signings, but we also know at least one player was signed with out his blessing. Balotelli. - why was he poor? He has a 1 in 2 record in his career, why was he lower than average here? If Rodgers played to his strengths, then maybe we might have seen more from him? The other strikers also suffered.

-Rodgers has breached the importance of playing style. All signings must fit his vision. Last season we had average players in our squad but were successful because they fitted our style and complimented the handful of stars we had. By signing Balotelli, who does not fit our style, Rodgers was seriously betrayed.
    - what is Rodgers's playing style? We seem to be associated with fast, attacking, pressing football but we only ever saw that for 1/2 season and that was when Suarez was in the team and he led the attack. Why is Rodgers so keen on playing 4-2-3-1 possession based football? He targeted Bony and now Benteke so we clearly want to play with a big striker up top.

We have quality players like Sterling and Coutinho who are blessed with vision and intelligence. Why are we not building the attack around Coutinho who loves to play thruoghballs to fast, dynamic strikers?

-Following Suarez exit a major injury to Sturridge was the last thing Rodgers needed. Not only did we loose another top striker, but Rodgers was also left stuck with this striker (Balotelli) who did not fit our system.
    - Why did Rodgers build his attack around an injury prone striker? We spent £100m in the summer - we should not have been this badly impacted by one injury.

-Some of our signings had slow starts (Can, Markovic). This could have been down to being in a new country, a new language, new team mates, new climate, new League, but they have shown some serious potential once given given some time.
    - these players didn't get their chance until Jan when Rodgers was pretty much 99% sacked. The Times reported that he was forced to play new signings.

-When Rodgers brought in the 3421 system he brought some thing very good out of our squad for 13 matches. Unfortunately 1 or 2 injuries spoilt the parade, but Rodgers made a great tactical call.
    - and once it failed, he was clueless and went back to 4-2-3-1 which has never worked under his tenure at LFC. And even in that run, we weren't playing that well.

-Our transfer stratagy has failed, but that was not Rodgers fault. With a new transfer strategy Rodgers could strive once again.
    - there are a lot of fingers pointing towards recruitment but it's as if we're expecting to sign 11 quality players and play quality football. These players need coaching, they need developing and they need to play in a system which suits them. Rodgers need to accept the fact that he can't just blame poor recruitment. He needs get the most out of his resources.

Klopp would apparently want us to scrap the 4 man transfer committee if he were to take over - from sky

not it sure if the owners would be too happy with that given how they aren't given on giving managers more power over transfers.

If we keep the committee we accept 2nd rate managers with smaller reputations & no winning experience. Because no manager worth his salt is going to let other people make decisions for him in regards to transfers.

They have always been keen on a DoF though. Would Klopp work with a DoF?

This committee stuff is far too old school Baseball, where they have a scouting committee headed by a General Manager. The big European clubs all have DoF's now, who are experienced football people. And thats the important thing, we need someone who knows and have lived football, not some guy who thinks he knows football.

That wouldn't happen. Klopp has always worked under a DoF and with a team of scouts. He's a First Team Coach, not a manager.

The committee is essentially a team of scouts. Most clubs have a committee but they have a DoF to head it.

We were just stupid to publicly announce it and give it the name 'committee'.

    In BBC Sport Gossip.... http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/gossip/

The back page of the Sunday Telegraph

Bayern's failed attempt to sign Sterling suggests Chelsea and Real Madrid will have to fight each other over the signing of the England international. (Sunday Express)

Liverpool are exploring alternatives to Brendan Rodgers, in case the Reds' boss fails to convince owners Fenway Sports Group at his end-of-season appraisal that the club is progressing under his management. (Sunday Times - subscription required)

Sterling will stay at Anfield if outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp lands the Liverpool job. (Sun on Sunday - subscription required)

    ************************************************
So now it's looking like Sterling doesn't want Rodgers.

I think it's going crazy at the minute. Sterling is not popular with fans. I don't think he'll be popular with Klopp. Unless Klopp has already contacted Sterling.

It's all hinging on the early June meeting. Hope Rodgers can do a good powerpoint. I want him to stay to at least prove last season's miraculous performances were not a fluke.

it has always hinged on the meeting with the owners, up until that point its a free for all for the press to say what they like to sell papers and make silly headlines whether true or not.

personally i cant see past a p45, if kenny getting us to 2 cup finals was seen as failure as they want top 4, then there is no excuse good enough for brendan.

whether we can then get klopp in no idea, be nice to have a manager with some clout and appeal for players though, as far as sterling goes, don't know, i think the issue is more his agent than him by the looks of it, but i dont know the full story to comment properly just an opinion.

Klopp confirms he is definitely taking a break from football...

...What he doesn't say is it's just for a couple of weeks so he can pack his German house up and move to the one he's about to get the keys for on Merseyside

Fancies Tranmere as they're a fashionable club for hipsters and they're the only kind he'll manage <ok>
