Your posts confuse me. Why is it obvious we have no intention to sell a current centre- back? We are releasing those without sale value - the huge negative is that their contribution is being ignored.
If a ridiculous offer came in we would not have to let them go, although I have no doubt we would - then the talk will be about why have we had to find a player weaker (or unproven) against the ones we released. Rosenoir and McShane are a mistake we will regret.

I suppose it's a calculated risk, if we retain him now and keep all our current centre backs then we will have too many, they won't get enough game time and there will be unrest.

Obviously if we are letting him go we have the intention of keeping the others, we do not need to sell them so unless a stupid offer comes in (like it did for Long) they'll be with us next season.

McShane was unfortunate he was the one out of contract as it made the decision for them.

Your right though if we end up selling the others we will have to find an unproven centre back and letting McShane go will have been a mistake but you can't hand out contracts on the basis of what might happen, sometimes these decisions work other times it comes back to haunt you, time will tell.

Can you explain how he disrupted the squad and threw a tantrum? You seem to have the detail.

He fell out with Bruce, got sent to train with the kids and made it public knowledge by putting it on Twitter.

He was then accepted back into the squad after apologising to Bruce.

It doesn't matter who was in the right, the managers decision is final and players need to be able to accept that.

Think this very relevant in the article, it'll be ignored on here.

Bruce, Quinn and Rosenior were all offered deals around Christmas time and while Quinn and Rosenior chose to keep their options open, Bruce later put pen to a paper on a contract that will run until 2017.

You roll the dice....
At least that puts the daft Bruce jr. favouritism stuff to bed, a shame Rosy didn't sign, badly advised maybe?

A Dawson / Maguire pairing would lack pace - if Chester goes we will need a replacement IMO

Chester wont be sold. I can see the club asking Chezza to stay and help get us back up. He may get an extension now to safeguard both parties. We wont get what Chester is worth now anyway. This time next and back in the PL........

In a moment of reflection, Paul McShane couldn't have marked his last game in a better way.

Playing out his final City minutes with a bleeding head and a deep gash in his thigh will cement his legendary status among us.

Time for a flag Mauled...
A great idea Hat.

It's not that, it is the fact that Bruce was offered another contract over McShane. Joke. It was basically a decision between the two. Bruce won....somehow

Is it that unexpected? I'd say over the last 3 years that Bruce has been the better defender

I noticed that too. It's not just about who is the best player it's who's under contract and at what salary. I'm sure well be cutting our cloth by Championship standards now.

Not at all, please carry on. You are making yourself look more ridiculous with each post you make. Don't stop on my account. Do tell me that you are not involved in anyway shape or form in written journalism?

I know which word you used. It's your quote, your reference, you're passing off third party information as if you are in agreement.

Apparently he was OUTSTANDING. So, you have had 3rd party information, which you are relaying as if it were correct. You suggested he had only played a small part in their season and could not therefore make a difference. I suggested that 16 games, or a third of a season was significant, and if he had been outstanding, then his impact was greater.

Bye

1) I will tell you that I am not involved in anyway (sic) shape or form in written journalism.

2) Where at any stage in my post do I relay information as if it is correct? I really don't think you understand the process of passing on other people's opinions: "I've heard that new interpretation of 1984 is good", "Apparently that Arcade Fire are excellent live", "By all accounts City were unlucky on Saturday". These are all examples of people relaying opinion of something that they clearly haven't experienced themselves which is precisely what I did.

3) You keep saying you won't reply anymore and yet....

Having too many can be resolved by the loan system (especially as both have PL pedigree); not having enough puts you in the melee for the right quality.

We may well have the intention of keeping the others, but that does not mean the others will want to stay if chased by another club. If we believe what we are told (and I do) most of those players will have halved their salaries, so chasing them will be a soft option for many clubs; including our immediate rivals. They were a part of a proven defence and their stock at our level and lower half PL will be high. People keep mentioning Curtis Davies, but really, Curtis who?? Curtis has not appeared for us for ages, he is reported to be out of sorts with the club, so how he is in any reckoning is totally beyond me. Lenihan and Maguire have much to prove, Dudgeon is lost to us as far as I can see. But never mind all of that, who will our right back be now?

I think you can hand out contracts on the basis of what might happen as that is exactly what squad building is about; on the other hand you can release key players and indulge in squad dismantling. It has been stated, by the club, that there is a real aim to achieve instant promotion and that needs squad support - look back at Newcastle and see how they kept their squad intact and drove the league with it.

This is really poor squad management and smacks of the dressing room issues I have spoken of since December.

I spoke to a Wigan fan a few months back and he said he was doing very well and hoped they would sign him permanently

Had a quick look on twitter and it seems like the Wigan fans rated him.

Sorry to see Harry Maguire return back to Hull, a real hard working talented lad. Reckon he was the best of the loanees at #wafc.

Can't say I'm happy about this. But Maguire could have a very bright future for us. He needs game time.

Sometimes you have to play the long game.
