Pink Floyd "Brick in the Wall"

We don't need no Dejan Lovren
We don't need no Osvaldo
No greedy bastards at our training

Brendan leave us saints alone now!
Hey Brendan leave us saints alone now.

All we need is Toby Alderwiereld
All we need is Fonte and Alderwiereld

Yes. Brilliant. Nobody could leave the club after that. Well done.

Love it - and a song from a decent band. Can't go wrong, but maybe too many words for some of us on The Northam!

Don't panic if Toby doesn't stay guys as here is a article showing a much better performing CB who could be available too....

The next time someone throws stats at me in an argument, then I will be resurrecting this link.

Lies, damn lies and statistics!

That is terrific counter to anyone who simply relies of data and statistics rather than watching performances. You will not find a single Saints fan that would want Lovren over Toby. Not one.

Lovren had that one game where he left after like 15 minutes or something. Also he played DMC and right back for a bunch of games where his roles were different. That's going to skew the stats if you just take total number of X divided by games played.

That said, Lovren and Alderweireld probably are much closer than most of us perceive. Lovren was after all, quite good for us. Just goes to show how important managers are in implementing tactics and organizing things to put the right players in the right roles. And it hints at how valuable Fonte is in understanding the defense and keeping things together mid-game.

Let's be honest here, if we discount Lovrens appalling behaviour last summer and his awful performances for Scousehampton, he was actually a very good centre back for us working very well with Capt Fantastic.
Just look at our dramatic dip in results when he was injured
He's still a t*at though

Where's the sport in admitting that? Much more fun just to laugh at him and Liverpool now.

A very small part of me wonders how funny it would be if he came back and he and Fonte looked like World beaters again.
