ON THE ONE HAND... He has shown that he can scare Championship defences when he runs at them at pace. He generally works hard. If his wages were low, I'd keep him because we can't ship out the entire 2014/15 squad: we need some continuity and he adds some bulk to the squad for the long season ahead. Also, we now (supposedly) have a decent coach, Ramsey, in charge who may be able to get him back to the form he showed before he joined us. ON THE OTHER HAND... His ball control and ability to cross the ball are both poor. His record of assists and goals scored are deeply unimpressive. He's had plenty time with us to show what he can (and can't) do. CONCLUSION We need to reduce the wage bill and generate some cash: if someone came in with a decent offer for him, I'd let him go.
Good summary, hard to disagree with any of that. #1. If Ramsey decide he should stay he's probably in the good egg camp. #2. If wages are sensible he should stay. Also depending on #1 and not reason enough to warrant keeping.
As useless as he is, I'd keep him and stick him at the front of a diamond. His head-down running like he's been wound up & released could actually win us a few penalties and create stuff, even if its more by accident than design.
He's paid a lot I think and I couldn't take much more cutting in past two players before unleashing a sliced effort towards the stratosphere.
He was brilliant at Blackburn , he came to us lost his confidence and probably regrets the day he came . We ruined his career Every thought how others may see it ?
I would personally keep him if on the right wages, a squad player in the championship at worst, and possibly a lot better. With the amount of players leaving, I can't see us getting enough in to replace him. I think his confidence will be given a huge boost against championship defenders..... then again the goal is in the same place, so maybe not?
I just think he had taken kicking confidence wise that's been hard to recover from . Same sort of thing with Phillips caulker and a few others , came in looking like they had something but it was soon drained out of them . It's like a curse almost at the moment We'd turn decent players **** at the moment you can't get away from that ...
Austin is only player who I would say has improved under us , the rest have either been flat or fallen away . Hoilette is a product if this negativity and shoddy management . If he wasn't loaded I would actually feel sorry for him . His career has taken a massive hit with us
I apologise if I'm wrong Jimbo but if your trying to be pedantic and correct a new posters grammer if it's slightly wrong then your a bit out of order
He ain't, Fusari. Grammar ain't Jimbo's strong point so its a genuine mistake on his part, not a piss take of you.
OK thanks Swords, as a new user it can be quite intimidating posting so i apologise for jumping on the defensive. New posters just shouldn't have to worry about people jumping on there back if their grammer is incorrect, it just stops new posters from contributing. I'd like to hear from Jimbo himself to see if i was over sensitive although your reply is much appreciated Swords. Again, hands up if I misinterpreted, no big deal either way. Let's move on!
You couple of wallys ! I was correcting my own **** up because it didn't sound right if you read back , swords knows my pet hate is grammar prats so no I was certainly not correcting anything you may have posted
All the reasons for keeping him have been negative. Swords' point is the most persuasive. He keeps running into a brick wall. Provided it's in the oppo penalty area that might get us a few penalties. He is at least quick and gets into the danger area quicker than many Championship defenders can think. Deeply frustrating player. However if we can get some cash for him, I'd cash in tomorrow.
He may have something to offer in championship though ? Prem no , on form but not championship ? Who would you target as a replacement ?
