Having considered the situation in serious depth and looking at these factors: 1. Brenda oozed class and ability throughout according to many RS fans. 2.his players having given 150% in almost every match according to Brenda himself. 3. His awful bad luck with the injury to Sturridge his only striker of any use 4. The committee dumping awful new players on him at high cost. 5. His transformation of Suarez from an ordinary player to a world class one which he sold at great profit to Barca 6. His motivational skills with his team meetings (envelopes ) and his post match interviews which are almost unique in encouraging his players in performing as well in the next match. It is clear that the owners should completely ignore the disloyalty of the despicable fair weather RS fans who are calling for his sacking and give him a new contract. Fergie after all stayed for decades and look at the number of trophies he won. #brendaforlife
He's had 20 years to build a squad capable of 75 points. Do you think other managers would be winning titles given that stability and the third biggest budget behind United and City in Premiership?
Let him have his moment in the sunshine...getting 3rd. You wont see him around when they fall behind us again next season.
No disrespect to the gooners but coming ahead of them isnt a concern. Virtually all United fans including myself are expecting a summer of spending and a title challenge next season. We need to aim higher...namely you guys. But like I said it depends what areas of our squad we address in the summer.
In theory Arsenal should be our main challengers next season, but due to your culture of winning and theirs of bottling, I would expect a stronger later challenge from City and their noisy neighbours too
Arsenal are far too inconsistent. Whatever form they've shown this season will have no bearing on next season. That's been the story for a decade now. City will be in the mix. My only reservation with them is the amount of changes needed and the manager situation but yeh they'll be there abouts.
What about you guys? Jury very much out on LVG for me so far. Don't think he would have lasted at Real this season!
He's done the absolute bare minimum. But what I will say about the dutch quiff is that when we've had our best players available (and I can name the games in the first and second half of this season where we have) he has played the right formation and attacking style. For example Carrick on his own isnt the be all and end all, but his presence means the rest of the jigsaw fits. So Rooney plays as a striker, Blind can go to LB, Herrera has freedom to go forward and be our main playmaker. IF LVG can bring in a decent DM or Box to Box mf to take over Carrick's role then we're in business. Ofcourse CB's, RB and striker are also needed so there's still much to do.
Six point improvement from 64 to 70. You would have needed 79 or 80 points to qualify in 2013-14. We've moved from 75 points under Fatso to 82 in 2014 and 87 in 2015 under Jose. I hope we can continue the trend to 92 in 2016 <biggrin> What sort of points total would be satisfactory? I would be disappointed if Chelsea did not get in the 80s again. I was hoping when Jose came back we would get three or four 80+ points seasons out of him and a couple of league titles
