I know i have just heard that some of our players didn't even acknowledge the fans. Simply a poor show.
In my short sightedness, I still appreciate they had no debt and a wage structure that couldn't keep Grant Holt interested. Ours is a wage structure that bought Samba competitively out of Russian oil wealth. How much money do you think will guarantee promotion because God knows what would happened if we splashed out and failed? My short sightedness also still sees that your Ipswich analogy is flawed. There was most unrest when Marcus Evans took over and started spending money (with Roy Keane like our previous managers only too happy to spend it) but they're going through a revival (with no small feel good factor) with Mick McCarthy (aided by none other than the Terry Connor mentioned by Ellers) and have assembled a team with some youth and it costs tens of thousands to assemble. Oh, and they made the play-offs so are progressing. Guess I should have gone to Specsavers.
No wumming here just my opinion. Disagree if you choose but its about time you lot stopped this "but we can afford it" attitude when it comes to players wages. We had the same attitude under Sven and it got us ****ing nowhere. Nigel Pearson came in and straight away got rid of the high earners who didn't give a **** and got players on contracts that was sustainable for the football club based on its incomes and not how much money the owners can afford. Our owners are worth nearly £2B but Nigel Pearson wants to club to operate within its limits and its worked for us. The players are still on very good money but aren't getting more then their worth The players earn a lot through bonuses at the end of the season which they have to earn rather then getting through basic contracts I think you need a manager like Pearson who will be sensible and give young hungry players decent contracts rather then giving over the hill or half arsed players massive contracts. Because you will just go around in circles Good luck for next season
You've obviously not been on this board much lately because if you had you would have known that we have been saying for months that the R's will in a period of austerity and going down the cheap route hence Ramsey being appointed. ...you post is out of date. ...
Congratulations, you have just won the prize for the most half-baked comment of the year... Of course we can put together a better team than Bournemouth, just like that... Beam me up...
Well I do disagree, most if not all of our supporters don't have such an attitude. Most of us are very concerned about the state of QPR's finances tbh!
Evening lads, must have been a tough one to take today. I didn't think i'd see a worse side than Newcastle this season but you were just abysmal. Some serious clearing out for you lot needs to happen. Plenty of deadwood to be shifted (and not just replaced with overpriced ****e). A couple of seasons in the Championship rebuilding not just the playing staff but the club could see you come back up and be a real threat in the Premier League. Best of luck in the future, your fan base doesn't deserve the bollocks you were given today. Hope you sort yourselves out, no hard feelings.
Echo this word for word - chatting with some QPR fans in the pub before the game and after as well, a good bunch who didn't deserve showing the players gave you today, Redknapp has well and truly fooked QPR over imo. Good luck next season.
I sincerely hope our ships pass in the night in a future season so you can eat some humble pie you prize prat.
Because you've conditioned us to expect that of you. However, when I first read your post, I thought you were being sincere - probably.
We've had some shockers this season all right and today was the culmination of a bunch of players who mainly appear not to really give a toss. No supporter who spends their hard earned following their team deserves the 5hite we've witnessed for much of this season. Best of luck to you for next season too.
I've posted twice on here today for the first time in about 6 months. The first wished you well and the second answered a question. Get a grip, your fans gave a good impression of your club today. Don't ruin it.
Well I was there with Nines (I'll let him tell the story of his trip, its a corker) and had a nice time in several Leicester pubs with my Fox supporting mate. The match was meaningless (missed the Leicester 3rd and 4th goals, having a pie and a pint with Nines ). I really don't care if I see any of the players on the pitch playing for QPR again. Also don't give a toss who came over to wave us goodbye at the end. They are not good enough for this league and and we've known it for ages. AKCJ just about spot on. Good for the Foxes fans who were in full voice today and deservedly so. Ground zero. Start again. Be patient.
Firstly Holt was sold for a couple of million so he wasn't going out of contract. Samba was signed in 2012/2013 only real drain on the wage role left from that time period is Hoilett and I bet there isn't a big gap between what he earns and Gary Hooper earns. Have a look at the Norwich side that played in the semi final against Ipswich and tell me which of those players would be on the sort of wages you are suggesting we start shopping in? Sit next to an Ipswich die hard at work. I know that when Evans took over the club they were already over £30 million in debt. I also know that Ipswich have had a good season not a revival. As can happen when you've got a good manager. They've been in that league for 13 years now. With the size of our debt I would suggest we probably need to get back in the league a bit sooner than that The Ipswich and Norwich comparisons are all a bit of a side issue though. Main point was around the type of players we should target. Sure you wont admit it but hopefully penny is dropping that there is more to be gained in signing the next Charlie Austin. Players, young enough to improve, but proven at this level or showing in league below they can progress beyond. These players might cost £3,4 or £5 million and can help us to succeed and become a saleable asset. Cheap cast offs wont do that. I believe your approach sounds more like a fire sale followed by cheap casts offs would surely only cause a downward spiral
