There's no doubt his agent has been touting the prick to clubs while he's still under contract and without the clubs permission, if it comes out in the dirty washing his agent should lose his licence and the buying club done for tapping up.

But it won't happen.<laugh>

If it secures a transfer and 30-40m then couldn't care less to be fair <ok>

From my understanding as he's under 28 he can buy out his contract after 3 years if it has 2 remaining... he signed his first and only pro-deal at 18 didn't he?

Just had a quick look round and this seems to be the case <ok>

I once read that a player could not buy out his contract if under the age of 23 but can find nothing on this now

No... I honestly couldn't see him staying. I think relationships have been strained and it bridges already burnt that he'll be on his way either this summer or next.

The he fact his agent has said those things suggest that he probably wouldn't even want to sit down with us and sterling is too weak to stand up to his agent and tell him so to what's best for him not the agent.

Agree with that but do you think Brod does?

Very interesting discussion of the Sterling situation on today's Anfield Wrap podcast <ok>

Sterling is one of the best players at the club. If he isn't worth or deserving of £100,000 a week why did the owners allow transfer money and wages to be wasted on Mario, Lambert and Borini. The kid or should I say boy has out performed and out scored all three playing in a number of roles.

Some here feel he will just warm a bench at another club or is not worthy of a move due to his performances....so the reality is some feel he s not good enough fr Liverpool or other big clubs.......
So why the **** has he been offered such a bumper deal!!!!

In answer to the 1st part of your post, the owners haven't got an igloo about footy and trusted Rodgers judgement.
And your 2nd point, those of us who have said in our opinion he'd be a bench warmer are basing our opinion on the clubs he is aiming to attract have better proven players in Sterling's position and they ain't gonna **** them off for "a promising young player" are they.
He's been reportedly offered the deal because FSG like Rodgers, Aidy and Sterling himself believe the hype.

I remember gerrard saying something along the lines of if Liverpool offered him a contract earlier he would have stayed maybe there's problems with the way Liverpool are run.

Also sterling is not a born Liverpool fan he was born and raised in london. Us londoners aren't to keen on living outside of London

The slagging off he had received from ex Liverpool players right or wrong won't motivate you to stay

He looks around the Liverpool dressing room and sees the likes off Allen, lallana, lovren, borini and ballotelli all in and around the 1st team all very average

He looks around the England dressing room and sees players he probably thinks he's better than earning more than him and I know footbal players earn a ridiculous amount but if you feel you are better at your job then your colleague you want more money than them

Also your star players are sturridge and coutinhio who won't get into any of the other top sides starting 11 apart from sturridge at arsenal

All of the above as a collection are justifiable reasons to want to leave

Also if you think you guys are getting 40 mill for him you are crazy city have been fvkd by ffp United dont need him chelsea have been more responsible with money over the years and us at arsenal have wenger

Realistically he is only worth £20m-£30m, but then again the value of of a young English player makes it about £40m. Look at what Shaw and Lallana went for who are both crap.
The kid will go, just up to us to sell him abroad.

Neither are crap, one has had an injury blighted season and the other has been misused. Are they worth their fees, only time will tell <ok>

Well, Chuckleface is not wrong, is he?;

Get rid and get our heads down. It'll be at least a decade before we challenge for the Prem again, so bite the bullet and concentrate on step one - CL football and winning a trophy. Not impossible to dislodge one of the top four (though probably not Chelsea or City) but not, as things are, likely.

I think it is going that way for us if we see no change. Chelsea and city have the money. UTD and Arsenal have the appeal and the money also to back them up and they all have quality players to attract more.
We are falling behind and dropping off completely.

just hope for big clubs in europe to get more clubs in for the big comp...

why should italy have only 3 anyway.... it hurts ac milan.. why should we be denied... lets forget abuot competing and rely on nepotism to get us an extra CL spot

It sounds like other club managers have also fallen for the sterling hype, how has he managed to pull the wool over so many experienced managers eyes!
