This is much better - if only to hear him try and say 'Toby Alderweireld'After last night I don't think I ever want to hear him speak again
How annoying....was enjoying that, paused it and it won't restart. The interesting bit was how they arrived at the decision to sell Chambers...he was 2nd behind Clyne and the money raised enabled us to not only sign a couple of players, including Mane, but cover their 3 years wages, so making it a risk free decision. And he seems to think we have a simplified management system which enables us to make decisions faster than other PL clubs....interesting.
Heard the rest by going over to Saintsweb....I knew DTLW would have put it over there as well. Excellent interview...gives an insight into the goings on behind the scenes. Glad to hear that the rumblings evident last year amongst the players has not been repeated this year...players appear to be more settled. I think we have to get used to the idea that things are not set in stone...transfers are judged case by case and the clubs position may change as it did with Chambers. The ambition the club is showing is breath taking...exciting times.
Yes, that's all very well, but now you need a shower..!
Incidentally, you going over to SaintsWeb was effectively refreshing the page here. Try that next time, eh.
I have often felt a need for a raspberry-blowing emoticon on not606.
Were your there? Difficult to judge from you tube as audience reaction does not get picked up. Most of these players awards up and down the country have cringeworthy moments. We need to remember how important Ralph is to Kat and cut him some slack. He is doing some great work in USA raising our profile and fan base. His speech when the training centre opened was second to none and, as others have said, his leadership skills are excellent. After last night I don't think I ever want to hear him speak again
Yes, I thought the same and it leaves both outcomes acceptable really. Last year, Morgan's desire was not for consideration but this year we need to acknowledge how he buckled down and became a key member of the team (yet again). That was actually very interesting. I'm not going to give a transcript but the most interesting bit was when Ralph talked about postseason i.e. next week. They will sit down with Morgan and make the best decision for the club and for Morgan. So we'll see...
Yeah, I looked up the details of interviewer Roger Bennett. He is, of course, the chap who did the Saints documentary a few months back. He's British-American. Born in Liverpool, [Everton fan, so likes an underdog] grew up somewhere in the UK [obviously, from that accent] and now lives and works in the USA. Mind you, so does Robbie Earle.I like his honesty when asked what his greatest problem was at Saints and he answered, 'My accent.' It is true... almost impossible to take anyone with a North American accent seriously when talking about football. Very astute of him. And noticeable that the chap interviewing him was English, so NBC realise it as well.
