He's scored 9 league goals. Are Young Boys in the PL?

Lambert, Balotelli, Sturridge and Borini have scored 8 between them.

Yeah but it's all the goals he didn't score I'm concerned about <ok>

Very much the same for Sturridge

I see the similarities of neither player doing what they're paid to do but ................ when one's in a hospital bed in the US and the other's actually out there on the pitch - you have to question your common sense, reasoning and powers of deduction! <laugh>

[HASHTAG]#madeofglass[/HASHTAG]

Poor excuse really, you can't be predicting him scoring, especially being injured<ok>

I haven't got a clue what this comment means but the bottom line is, a fully fit Sturridge is better than a fully fit Lukaku ........... at less than half the price too <ok>
If you make that judgement on one season then more fool you <ok>

On one season, no, where did I say that btw?
Lukaku has got worse over time, Sturridge better.

Pre-Suarez for his four clubs he averaged 1 goal vevery 4+ games, since Suarez for Pool he has averaged 1 goal every 4+ games. How has he got better?

Only time will tell <ok>

But going on last season, Sturridge has got much worse........

Or back to normal?

Last season speaks for itself, immense goal tally with Suarez - this season he's I in 3 ... hence got better ... <ok>

and if you think 8 goals in 12 games for one of those previous clubs equates to 1 in 4 you need to work on your maths.

55 appearances and 11 substitutions. 35 goals, maths fail even this season he is 0.33 goals per match which is still better than 1 in 4. His overall Liverpool ratio is 0.64 goals per match in the PL. 1 in 4 is obviously 0.25.

Even this season which has been awful for him in the PL he's 0.33 ratio which is still better than 1 in 4
7 starts 5 substitutions. 4 goals

Sorry what were you saying?

He was probably using Wikipedia <whistle>

Only in the land of the kopite could a season of 5 goals in 17 appearances, follwoing on from a season of 24 from 33, be viewed as improving.

As for a 1 season wonder. Sturridge has only had 1 season in his career that he's scored more than 15 goals. Lukaku has had 5 and he's 4 years younger.

He was counting "appearances to goals" and creating a stats fiction. I know another lad who likes doing that, trying to compare 5 minute substitutions to full appearances when measuring goals per game<laugh>

Minutes played Studge is 1 goal per 270 mins approx.

The fact Studge has been in and out and had a disaster, 4 goals for his 7 starts and 5 substitutions is a good haul if you compare it to other misfiring strikers. What's Lukaku's PL gtg ratio for the season? and he's played a lot of games.

Rooney's goals to game ratio is .38, Studge is .33

Lukaku .26 goals per game <whistle> Maybe Diego was mixing Lukaku up with Studge, cos you know, they all look the same to him :bandit:

Studge has done well given what he's had to deal with, definitely a better player than he was at his previous clubs<ok>

Having Sturridge and not having Sturridge are the same thing....ie he provides nothing, because he is never fit.
Sturridge has had one good season in his career.
David Bent, Marcus Stewart, Andy Caroll, Andy Johnson have all had freak seasons they have never since replicated.
Until Sturridge shows me that his goal scoring last season was anything other than harnessing the power of Suarez, I willl not rate him.
He may be awesome, but until he stays fit and proves it, then I go Lukaku.

Plus Lukaku is 4 years younger.

Are you saying Suarez is lazy or not a good striker?.
No, I am saying he quite blatantly raised the game of everybody in the Liverpool squad, Sturridge included and probably more so with Sturridge than anyone, as they were attacking partners.
Like Chris Sutton at Blackburn 20 years ago, look at this stats when partnered with Shearer and when not......huge difference.
