I think the formation is in part dictated by the full backs if we have attacking full backs then a diamond should work as they provide the width and the DM comes across to cover if caught on the break. If you have defensive full backs then 433 is better as the wide forwards offer the width and stretch the game
Damn - we needed to make a failed attempt to sign a quality target to take our mind off the fact that we'll end up with someone like Benteke instead.
Ings is reportedly close. Apparently signing mid/lower level dross is the way to get back into the top 4.
There's some shenanigans going on in France. Psg and lyon are hammering off each other and apparently lacazette has promised not to leave this summer after Psg put a headline in l'equipe about signing lyon plsyers .
This is what pisses me off the most about our transfers now, no ambition. Just looks like we've been turned down too many times by the bigger names so we don't even try anymore and settle for lesser. And sometimes still pay the big prices for the mid table players
We are just getting the big one in early. Ing is a worldie...... just wait til you see the squad player we get to cover him in August
Rather have Ings coming off the bench than Balotelli, Borini or Lambert. As long as he isn't our only forward signing then can't complain. Sturridge / Origi / Ings & a new first team signing. Pretty happy with that forward line up.
Liverpool FC transfers: Danny Ings move inches closer after Burnley relegation 11:20, 11 May 2015 The striker is thought to be in favour of a move to Liverpool FC 1106 Shares Liverpool FC has moved a step closer following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League. The Reds are hopeful of completing the signing of the 22-year-old striker when his contract with the Clarets expires this summer, although the club will still need to pay a fee set by a tribunal as he is under the age of 24. Ings, who scored his 10th league goal of the season in Burnley’s 1-0 win at Hull, has received numerous offers both home and abroad - and even travelled to Spain to speak with Real Socidead boss David Moyes - but is thought to be opting for a move to Anfield. In pics: Danny Ings - the story so far Brendan Rodgers is keen on adding more firepower to his squad next season after struggling up-front throughout, plus confirmation Daniel Sturridge will miss the start of 2015-16 recovering from hip surgery. Belgian international Divock Origi, a £10million signing from Lille last summer, will also arrive as Liverpool prepare to improve their squad following failure to qualify for the Champions League. theliverpoolecho
I'm sorry but that's not good enough - 1 striker is injury prone, 1 is a youngster and Ings is a striker who doesn't score goals. There actually isnt a difference between Borini and Ings - both are similar players and are ultimately sh*t.
Ings no matter what is said is a disappointing buy/rob. if he were under contract he would never even be looked at.
Whilst he's not as poor as Lambert, this signing is akin to Lambert's last season. There is no logic.
The only logic i see is lack of money... lets get the "bargain" He doesn't strike me as being held back by burnely's lack of creativity nor as the next alan shearer just waiting to explode ala his southampton days. I am hoping this is another Shane long type rumour and someone at anfield somewhere is going WTF are the press at. None of it adds up. linked to yet another 20mil CB today but we won't have the cash for that IMO.
exactly.... a rumour of yet another CB when it's obvious he's taken a bath on lovern and will pour the entire budget down that drain? Prob not real but reality is we've no full backs, no striker and no CM to replace gerrard so we go buy a CB with our budgt.
Hahaha, are you serious?? Aston Villa would have a better line up, in fact 3/4 of the league would. This is the exact crap we get and will always get under Rodgers. #Klopp in
Hence why I said a new first team striker. We can't have 3 strikers on 100k a week when only 1 or 2 max will play. Hence you have Sturridge and another first team striker to rotate or play together with Sinclair, original, Inge as back up for Europa and cups. You say say ings makes less sense than last year signings, but he offers pace and movement as well as scoring goals at every level. He's young, free and home grown. As a 3rd/4th choice striker he'll be a decent option. Rather him than any of our others who haven't scored. If if he's our only forward signing then I'll be worried thoigh
