Killarney 7.40-Usuel Smurfer EW-Was given this last month from the stable as one to side with and they seemed fairly confident of a decent run.The horse is up against a couple of Willies/Elliot's so this is a hot enough race so I won't be wading in to deep! The ground at the course today was very heavy so there are sure to be a number of non runners come race time.C'ant say I know to much about the horse but he has won on soft ground before.Best price I can see is 12s so this is most definitely EW territory bearing in mind the ground and the competition.
Cheers for sharing Ste. Only got 10's with Ladcrooks. I see Usual Surfer has had 3 runs at Killarney and has been placed on each occasion.
2.10 Doncaster- MAGIC CIRCLE 7/1 will go off at 7/2 IMO. Off a handicap debut mark of 60, this horse will improve hugely as a 3YO and the soft conditions and the increase in trip will see this son of Makfi out of a Sadlers Wells mare in much better light.
Gone....now 7/1. Also at Towcester I like the look of PRINCE PIPPIIN 12/1 at 7:30 Won this race two years ago and now races off a mark 4lbs lower. C&D form is very important at this fairly unique track. Has his ground and his form is better than it reads at first glance. Will surely be in the firing line.
Kim Bailey has a good record at his local track, especially in bumpers, he has two runners in the last, the David bass mount must have a big shout after his last run..... I see they triumphed today at Ludlow -the needle man's representative well backed but beaten -same again tomorro!
Michael Stoute is having a real shocker of a season with an 8.9% strike rate. He has 3 at Windsor tonight with Moore up on all of them. Can't get that excited about any of them really but surely one will win and the most likely is Quick Defence.
In view of how badly Sir Michael’s horses have needed their first run how good do the performances of Group winners ARAB SPRING and BRAGGING look! I would be surprised if both, by campaign end, haven’t obliged at the highest level – maybe on successive weekends in the King George and Nassau Board Stakes respectively. The latter should be able to clean up in the top class mares events this term especially seeing as Sir Michael appears to want to pitch his excellent racemare, and dual Group 1 winner, INTEGRAL, in against the colts this term – starting on Saturday in the Lockinge.
Good luck, Stick, me old love. Although it would appear that you would have those bastions of our sport, Mr Henderson and the Pipe’s, to beat. Interestingly, Mr Henderson’s mare, in the heat, is named after her trainer. How lovely, I say how lovely, is that!
I'm glad you are so positive Sir Barney but he's been long enough in the game to know how to get them going earlier than he does now. I have this theory that as trainers get older they get a bit precious about their animals and the way they train them.
Ffs usuel smurfer a non runner now, was into 13/2 with pp.something smells dodgy, im sure the shark was taken care of! I was so excited about that tip I couldnt sleep last night and when I did I kept waking up the missus shouting 'shaaaark get in'.think ilb on couch duty tonight
I see warne has drifted out to 5/2 in the second last at killarney.looks to be the class horse in the field so snapped up that price quickly. Will have a wee wager on suprise vendor in the first at mussy
Good shout Toppy, unfortunately I missed it. Over the last couple of weeks we have not seen much of the Hannon/Hughes combo at Windsor let alone many horses, however they both have a full book in all the races. Therefore I will be doing an e/w Heinz on all six. All but one are e/w prices.
Lovely! Made hard work of it and the stamina really did have to see it through, however the ground didn't look as soft as I anticipated so this one might show a bit more on a softer track at some point in the future. It could be one to progress through the handicap ratings but I'd have a look to se what the handicapper does next and I wouldn't want to be getting too involved on quicker ground, so we might want to be selective with this one going forwards
