You laugh but I fully expect UIR to come on and say the same and be serious about it.

Dont get me wrong, we played well in the first half. But the minute Shaw and then Rooney went off, half the team bottled themselves. Players like Evans and Smalling have to fck off out of the club. They cannot handle playing for United. No disrespect to these clubs, but their level is Sunderland or West Brom or Hull. Not convinced by Blind in midfield either and Valencia and Falcao can piss off too. All over-paid bottlers.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Smalling to be fair mate, I think he's been playing really well of late. He has been hampered by a few injuries and I don't think it has helped having a different centre back with him every other week. I agree with you about Valencia and Falcao though.

You're right in that he has been playing well. I just cannot understand why our defenders dont do basic things well. They get on the wrong side of players when the ball's coming to feet. They let the ball bounce when it comes in aerially, they either get too close to attackers or do nothing, they wait for the ball to come across them far too often, waiting and waiting instead of playing the ball quickly, thereby allowing themselves to be closed down and invite pressure. And Smalling (and particularly Evans) demonstrated all those things.

Maybe my earlier post was a bit strong but I think a lot of our defenders were broken mentally last season and have never recovered.

You're right, but I think what's missing is leadership. Smalling, Jones, Rojo and Evans are just not natural leaders IMO. I also think that not playing a natural right back and not having a left back position nailed down due to injuries have really affected the centre of our defence. Be interested to see if we do try for Hummels.

Think we have to! Or another top CB (or two) and agree a RB is necessary. Why hasnt he played Rafael more. That's his United career over which is strange bcos he has more passion than any player on the pitch. The lad is tenacious. He has his faults but defensively and going forward I think he's better than Tony.

Yeah Rafael not playing is a strange one as I thought he would have been ideal for LVG.

I know about the rib injury a few weeks back but I'm pretty sure he's been on the subs bench for a lot of the season.

It was reported last week he will miss the rest of the season due to broken ribs, not sure if this is the same injury you read about. Most of the times he has been on the bench he has been coming back from injury and had no "match rhythm" so then plays in the U21 and gets injured again. Don`t know if all this is true or if LvG just doesn`t like/trust him.

What a terrible ****ing performance ? Very lucky to win. Could have easily been a draw or even a defeat. But at this stage of the season, we'll bloody take a fortunate 3 points.

LVG said in his interview that he was advised that he still needed 1 point to qualify for CL .

His advisors should be ****ing sacked. United are on 68. The RS on 61 with 3 matches to play. How can United ****ing need 1 point? If the RS beat the holidaying Chavs (which they should really do) then it is game on. And United has to get at least 2 points (GD in United 's favour) even 3 points to be sure. Any other result this afternoon, bearing some freakish United defeats and RS wins, United do not need any more points.

Massive three points but the performance, especially second half was very poor.

Palace unlucky not to get a penalty of their own but ours was as blatant as you can get.

Rooney didnt look fit at all. Didnt watch live so recorded the game and missed all the build up. Was he risked?

On the balance I think Palace deserved a draw but anyone thinking Palace were pushovers before the game needs a head check. Scrappy 2-1 win is just fine.

Havent read the last few pages but I bet it was an embarrassment of meltdown riches. Standard stuff.

Again, you're assuming a side who havr been rubbish all season, barely scores a goal and have a far worse defence than us (regardless of which defenders are fit) will actually win all 3 games.

They might win 2, if they are lucky. I can see them getting 4 points from 9.

Holidaying Chavs <laugh>... Its their title winning celebration today and they will want to rub Liverpools noses in it bigtime.

I agree, why would Chelsea roll over for Liverpool?

If anything they'll want to grind them into the dirt.

That is exactly the problem. I bet they did exactly the same after the City game. Worked out how many needed to secure 4th (or even 3rd) and that fed through to our performances against Everton and WBA. Now he's said 1 point needed (even if he turns out to be right) watch us drop a gear over the next 2 games and squeeze that point out in the last 5 minutes against Hull.

United have always been terrible at needing a set number of points or draws. The level of performance drops and they find it difficult to raise their game. But tell our players we need to win every game and every one is a must win game and the mentality completely changes.

You really are the kiss of death UIR <laugh>

I can quite easily see chelsea not bothering in the 2nd half.
