to the Norwich twat in the front row for abusing mings and getting chucked out. you're a real credit to your club.
Back in the day when the old North Stand was fenced off and we could get up close and personal with the away we always found Norwich to be racist, we'd have the banter with them but they'd show us their Briitish Movement membership cards...
can't believe there were school kids trying to give it large and the parents were behind them snarling. loved it when the twat in the white top got literally carried out by the old bill. What a ****er.
i can assure you i would join the ipswich fan club before i joined the british movement. of course we have our idiots, but most city fans i have known are sound(as i am sure most ipswich fans are)
bloke in the white who jumped onto the pitch deserved to be dragged away but Im not sure if the fan who squirted water at Mings deserved the same punishment unless there was more to it than that. The strangest thing (again) was being separated from their fans as we left the stadium but once you got to the staples crossroads they let you walk together. Am I more likely to get into a scuffle 10 metres from the turnstile then I am 100 metres? I honestly don't get the logic
This cracked me up with the barrier and both sets of fans giving it large at each other from both sides of the barrier, as soon as there was no barrier though noone said a word to each other!!!
Thank God that times and attitudes have changed. I can remember being in Churchman's as a kid, joining in shouting something that started "Trigger, trigger, trigger..." most weekends in the 70's & 80's. Makes me cringe.
You lot are always going on about your turnstyles. We get it , they are always freshly painted and ours aren't let it go mate.
It's nothing to cringe about,it was just cultural. I was against it at the time because I was always a Socialist and discrimination in terms of colour or gender,or even being gay didn't seem logical to me. You didn't have a choice in any of these things. Hopefully now people realise that. What we must not do though is over compensate and turn a blind eye to things because of the colour/religion of those involved in crimes, like the Rotheram sex abuse cases.
As discussed on our board, the Norwich fan did not commit any racist offence, but he was abusive. He got a community resolution though so it clearly was unpleasant and sounds like the right punishment meted out. As I said on our board, five Ipswich fans have been charged with various disorder offences (one for racially aggravated behaviour) along with three Norwich fans (for drinking in the stadium, possessing a flare and one for assaulting a police officer). I think we can all agree these guys are idiots and do not represent their clubs.
The overwhelming majority of Ipswich Town and Norwich City fans are among the best in football. Shall we celebrate that and accept that the handful of tw*ts is a drop in the ocean when compared to any other club or region, particualry when you look at those numbers as a percentage of the aggregate base. You would genuinely get more trouble at a Scunthorpe v Grimsby match, seriously!
