Ok, had a word with the bloke who set this place up and he seems to want the same as us. Minimum modding but aware that there is a need to mod stuff that is racist (as well as the dodgy pics/links/video). He said that he'd leave it up to us as to who we decide to be a mod(s), or no mod at all. We have a great opportunity to build on what he's started. There are other forums out there but come May when BBC606 ends, people will be looking for a place, if this is good they'll sign up. It's early days. At the moment there are about 10 of us but we have to make some decisions. 1) Mod or No Mod? 2) If mod, Who? 3) What would you like to be modded (if anything at all)? 4) Thoughts/comments.
modded - racism as you said really that all that could offend and abusive language but that can be optional
It all depends how you do it. I don't mind swearing and all but some peeps do get offended by word **** even. I wouldn't like to see pics of naughty nature as I will be logging on at work so NSFW rulles should be followed ( can be a link with a warning)
Sweet. Anyone who gets offended by harsh language won't be around too long. Agree with the NSFW cos that also applies to anyone who logs on at home and has a wife & kids.
well thats better definetly need a mod and we really don't mind what is allowed or not... won't last long at Millwall if you don't like abusive language as away player will know
Can we ban 'text speak' as that is offensive? What will be the decision process to elect Mods and how many I suppose are the obvious questions. Early days though, so plenty of time...
Good stuff ShowOff and well volunteered mate. We do need a MOD but only to pull down the stuff that gets well out of hand. There is no point in having a site that gives you a lot more freedom for it to not allow us to make use of it. Obviously we cannot take the complete piss, but I think one of the problems with beeb was that it pulled up posts that had valid points, deeming them racist or the like when they were creating a good debate. I don't expect this board to become like the beeb and i know Show Off wont become a jobs worth pulling up every swear word, or a bird with a lovely pair of tits. What is this NSFW malarky?
Get a Mod, maybe 2. Not bothered about swearing just the sad ****ers who post crappy articles that waste 30s of my life
Mod, for the over the top unnecessary stuff. Don't block swearing, for ****s sake, it can add so much to a sentence. Don't ban offensive comments either, I'm not racist or sexist or whateverist, but the people who are offended by comments are just as immature as the ones posting them; everyone should be able to voice their opinion however they please, ****ishly or not.
