I've read in today's mirror that saints are to sign gary Roberts for 500k... I can see this being a realistic target n good cover! What does everyone else think?

No, just no, this would not be a sustainable signing - this story would have come out of nothing more than Jason Robert's agent attempting to drum up interest in his client. We'll probably see him linked to a whole host of Championship clubs over the next few weeks.
Anybody who thinks this would be any other than a great signing is mad. Had a great season last year when used, scored some vital goals and is a real handful up the top. Premier league goalscorer with a decent work rate coming down to the championship would be a great bit of business. Also a rgeat bloke who has always been into this charity work (before it became 'cool'). Yes please.

He was there 3rd best striker behind Pilkington and Rhodes. And I wouldn't want us to sign them either. Much better players out there.
Your telling me you wouldn't want to sign Pilkington? Roberts and Pilkington aren't strikers - they were Huddersfields first choice wingers last season. From what i've seen of Roberts he is a great crosser!

He's 27. Apparently he's also on the verge of signing a contract extension with hudders. Be a pretty dire signing tbh, not even first team for them a league below!
