its 75% top rate tax in france so in theory a very rough number would be 138k = 25% of gross pay per week.

  2. Yes but that would be a very rough calculation indeed <laugh>

The accountants will have ways of avoiding tax being paid plus the highest tx bracket only applies to a proportion of the wages too. I'd expect the gross figure to be around 250k-300k

Ilkay Gundogan: Borussia Dortmund midfielder will leave club
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will not renew his contract with the club.

The Germany international's contract expires next summer and Dortmund confirmed he will not extend his stay.

They did not say if the 24-year-old, who has linked with a move to Manchester United, would be sold before he can leave on a free in 2016.

Gundogan is a quality midfielder but his injuries are a concern. For the right price, it would be worth a punt.

In and out? Liverpool could buy Benteke (left) if they sold Sterling
Raheem Sterling and Christian Benteke look set to spark a Premier League transfer money-go-round this summer.
Manchester City are planning a serious bid for £50million-rated Liverpool forward Sterling, who is refusing to discuss a new deal to keep him at Anfield.
Selling 20-year-old Sterling would give Reds boss Brendan Rodgers the financial firepower to move for striker Benteke, whose Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood warned on Thursday would cost around £30m.
Sherwood said: “If a player doesn’t want to play for the club any more and the club he wants to go to meets the valuation, it’s best to let them go.
“It will be just a market value - what’s out there.

Deal with it: Sherwood won't keep Villa players who want to leave

"I don’t want to talk about selling Christian when I’ve got no intention of doing that. So it would have to be a lot of money for someone to get him off us.

“We are looking for players ourselves, so we know how much other clubs are looking at [as fees] for their players. He’ll be too expensive for a great deal of people in the Premier League. We want to keep our best players - and he’s certainly one of those.”
Rodgers will embark on an overhaul of his squad this summer, but currently has a limited transfer budget of around £30m.
One man he hopes to attract is James Milner, set to be available on a free from Man City when his contract expires at the end of the season.

New home, James? Liverpool are keen on free-agent-to-be Milner
The 29-year-old is seen as a key figure for Rodgers, but the Reds - fifth with four games to go but only ahead of Tottenham on goal difference and just one point ahead of Southampton - will need to be able to offer him Europa League football at least.
England international Milner has a young family and is settled in the north-west, making Liverpool an attractive option for him... especially as they would be prepared to match the £90,000 a week wages he is on at City.
PSV Eindhoven and Holland forward Memphis Depay is also set to head for Anfield, with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal - who had been linked with a player he managed at last summer's World Cup - now exploring other options.
As many as 10 players will leave Anfield in the summer and Depay would swallow up most of Rodgers’ current transfer budget, leaving him needing to generate cash for other purchases.

All our signings this summer will be average, time to accept that. ****ing mess of a season which will allow United to continue their revival now with CL funds and yet more marquee signings. Whilst we flap around trying to sign Gashly williams

If United are seriously targeting Bale, then I think we stand a good chance of getting Depay. And that really would be a signing of intent - fantastic player.

I just hope we address our defensive issues with the same level of ambition.

If United sign Bale, then we will have to oust someone else out of the top 4, I can't see United slipping out of the top 4, especially if they sign Gundogan, Hummels and Bale, which is suggested strongly that they will

Agreed - so frustrating because they would have been in big trouble if they missed out again. And in all honesty, they should be missing out but they have benefited from playing in a seriously poor league.

Ah well - we had our chance to go for better players last season. Perhaps we can sign more Lamberts and Lallana's.

That would be a good window for us. £200m spent and the side still won't do anything when 34 year old Carrick is missing.

I do hope they spend something ridiculous on Bale because the lad will only get injured.

    So...

    lets just ask

    Hummels, gundogan, bale

lets assume di maria is off to PSG

lets assume de gea stays... if we assume he goes loris would be bought anyway

    De Gea
    Valencia Hummels Jones Blind
    Carrick
    Gundogan Felliani
    Mata Rooney Bale

Just as a 433 type set up.

Still not the complete article IMO.

We need a midfield General plus another play maker, and a 20 goals plus striker.
and they don't come cheap John Henry must spend big in the summer.

thats a given. they are already better than us without those 3.

They need a full back and another striker so one would have to wonder about bale v di maria talk. Surely buying a striker to pla with rooney cos mr falcao and mr RvP are not it?
