Results are only viewable after voting.
I'm not sure if it's nationalism or just that people have, as a result of the referendum, become more politically aware and more active. Given that it's a straight fight between SNP and Labour in Scotland people are turning to the SNP as a way of venting their spleen at Westminster and the WM parties.

I know lots of people who are voting SNP who wouldn't call them nationalists.

But the referendum only happened because a significant % of the population wanted it. There was no such desire for a referendum in Thatcher's time.

I'd like to ask the panel a serious question for a change. What's behind the recent surge in Scottish nationalism?

I would have thought that, if this was going to happen, it would've happened during the darkest days of Thatcherism - yet there was no clamour for Scottish independence at the time. What's changed in the meantime to cause the huge rise in support for the SNP?

If I may;

As the electorate become more exposed to social media, and social media continues to spout uncorroborated and unsubstantiated spin like the SNP/Yes campaigners have indulged in, painting this impossible dreamland of oily milk and shortbread honey, where everyone is rich and we show those 'basturt inglish at Westmonster' how wrong they've been.

We also have a press and media populated by Protestant hating bigots, who won't speak up for the Union for fear of upsetting their Fenian Paymaster at FC BHEAST who relies on 8th generation Irishmen to populate the stand at the Savile Siro.

Seriously though, it's cool/trendy to be SNP just now, it's a populist movement that will win 40 seats at Westminster, sweep into power at the Scotch Elections in 2016 and will need to be held accountable for their 10yrs of Governance in Holyrood.

People will vote SNP because "the Vow" was watered down and the Jocks think SNP means a big Scotch voice in Westminster.

I think by the time we get to Holyrood, people might start to vote for who they would normally vote for, Labour/Lib/Dem/Tory etc.

But people felt more British in the 70's & 80's than now. We had huge national industries in coal, steel, shipbuilding and we had a massive unions which acted as a community, where the dockers of Liverpool had the same desires as the dockers of London, the miners of Yorkshite had stuff in common with Lanarkshite... These are all gone now as has Britishness.

When we're constantly told we should feel ashamed of our Imperial past by leftwing ****ers it's no surprise to this Presbyterian that the UK is almost dissolved.

Most UK citizens put their nationality as Jock/Nige/Dafydd before British.

Will Federalism save the UK, this Establishment ***** thinks it just might.

I'll pass this on to FF and see if we can get your ban lifted. <ok>

Not me sir. I am a nomad with no nationality.

Nationalism is essentially just racism.

**** 'em all I say.

Not really. Opinion polls regularly showed less than 30% of the population wanted independence before the campaign began.

Likewise, most Jocks don't want another referendum now.

Krankie has ruled it out even if "she wins all 59 seats", will she have the clitoris to include it in the manifesto for 2016?

Doubt it

If the SNP get 59 seats we'll just declare independence anyway.

ER's threatened to leave the country if that happens. Expect a SNP landslide <ok>

Anyone that doesn't vote for Labour in the next election is basically handing the Tories/UKIP power. Unless the SNP and Labour agree to work as a coalition, but I honestly can't see that happening...

Nationalists are all ****ing *****s.
