It's not just that. Their players aren't particularly that good. They certainly aren't better than the teams which are above them that's for sure.

They're still having the same problems though. An erratic defence and a lack of composure in the final third. Aside from last season which seems to have been a once-off, they've had these issues for quite some time now and Rodgers has done very little to fix it.

I think they have a lot of quality players but they look lost, Rodgers makes them look like a mess by pushing players out of position and needlessly tinkering. Are they better than the top 4? No, but if they played to their strengths then they should be up there, or at least closer than they are which they were until Rodgers started trying to be clever again. Was Markovic really right back tonight?!

Anyway, thanks to Dawson I've won my second double in 2 days. This one was just £3 and some change netting me £25 so thanks to the Scousers for skewing the odds too <laugh>

Dawson didn't even have to move (just as well).

Zonal marking, eh? The Liverpool defenders weren't even in the same time zone.
Unfair on Dawson. He would have been 5 yards offside if he didn't have to move. On some of the clips I saw above I was sure he was offside, as it turns out he timed his (short) run really well. Although the marking was shambolic.

Well done to Hull Hotspur, great seeing the clip on SSN where Daws, Hudd and Livermore embraced at the final whistle, reminded me of old times.

I know people go on about Levy this, manager that etc.
Yet yesterday has proven that Spurs are a very good club indeed.

Brenton has had to spend all that money in the summer just to be ahead
of us by a GD of 4 with 4 games to go. Three of the players in the team that
turned him over were even deemed no longer of the standard required for Spurs.

So when the likes of Spurcat have digs at the man, have a bit more "spirit of
Shankly" in your hearts instead.

Ms Brenda will be sacked in the Summer, I'm pretty certain of that.

Loud mouth, arrogant prick, that "Spending £100m should result in challenging for the title" speech has really come back to bite him. The big nosed-****tard.

I was talking to a woman recently who happens to know Brendan quite well. She worked with him when he was driving lorries for Waitrose. She reckons he's one of the nicest guys she has had ever met.

I think I offended her when I laughed at her and said "well all I know is, that when I see him on my TV screen, I just know I am going to hear a complet load of shyte come out of his big gob".

I'm sure a bucket load of cash and having a job where being egotistical is a benefit haven't changed him at all in the last 20 years

If only Brenton had worked for M+S instead. Then we could have a done a :

This is not just a Spurs spending eff-up. This is a chocolate "strategy" pudding.

I think he was summed up by a word that came up on Countdown the other day:
