With promotion gained some of our present squad will not be in contention next season for regular football. Looking at Granada's plight this season it looks as if they are facing relegation from La Liga, with them supporting are PL push over the past three years is it our turn now to rightly help them. Therefore who do you think might gain/enjoy a switch to Spanish football's second tier?

Dire and McGluegun - oh, hang on, you want Granada to stay up...

How about short stints for Doyley, Pudil and Bond? Maybe even Savic...

I wonder how their fans wond react if we shipped them a few fringe players.

    Probably wish they had Odin!

It is a good point we are a trilateral force, how many teams go down from la liga?

I have heard Doyley is off to Shrewsbury if we do a deal with a young defender.

It's a good point. It looks like the Pozzo plan is to build the strongest team here at Watford and have been willing to sacrifice a little bit of the best interest for particularly Granada. I would imagine priority is now to build Watford into a Europe Champions League contender so expect to see strengthening whilst still having Granada and even Ude as secondary priorities. Will be interesting to see who stays, who moves within the family and who goes..... The plan is working anyway. Could be a job for Joka? I'm not sure what they'll do about the driving seat position..

Prem survival / consolidation is more likely their aim for Watford , with Granada back into the la liga . We can dream , but it is highly unlikely Watford are going to break into the top half of the Prem anytime soon .
I would be happy if we become an established mid table club with a few good cup runs from time to time .
If the Pozzos merely wanted a European Championship side , they could have bought a club in a country with a less competitive top division .
If we do stay in the premiership , I suspect we will be a showcase / shop window for their conveyor belt of talent , they are businessmen afterall .
Over time , Watford will lose some excellent players ..and some Watford fans with short memories will no doubt complain .
I'm just grateful for this terrific season in the Watford story . Exciting times ahead .

Yep - I really hope the long sufferers don't lose out on trips to Old trafford and the like because of the new ones. Also hope it's still possible to buy tickets per game. But hey, it is the price of success and quite frankly I couldn't put a price on the elation i felt on saturday afternoon :)

That's the downside of it for me too - I doubt it will be. I'm not so worried about the trips to Old Trafford etc - strangely I kind of hanker after the days of visiting Barrow, Workington, Hartlepool, Grimsby and the like. Maybe I just yearn for the days of my youth...

I know exactly what you mean. Really enjoyed the seasons in the third tier back in the late 90s as i was going to places I'd never been before - Chesterfield was cracking!

At least the teams you list have genuine fans and are happy to inter-act with opposing fans! <ok>

True - mostly. I deliberately left Southport off the list after a bad experience there with some 'rockers'. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the long hair and cow bells I was sporting back then.... <whistle>

Yes I remember "inter-acting" with some Hartlepools fans who (it seems) urgently required my scarf and were prepared to "negotiate" long and hard in the Gents toilet at the Victoria ground at half time. Regretfully, I had to decline their kind offer but did accept the dislocated thumb they gave me as a farewell gift.
