Yesterday my son and I sat in Row B of the School End Lower, towards the Ellerslie Row side. We were almost at the end of a row of seats. In the first half, a tall steward stood in Row A with his back to the advertising hoardings. One minute into the game it was obvious he obscured our view of most of the goalmouth and a good chunk of the opposite side of the pitch. He informed us it was "against the rules" for him to sit down. At this point it became clear I'd need to stand up every time the Rangers mounted an attack down the right flank. Frankly, a ticket with a view obscured to that extent is not worth £50. If the "steward must stand" rule really is valid, I'd estimate that about 10-15 tickets currently retailing at £50 should be heavily discounted as "restricted view" tickets and should be marked as such on the stadium plan.

However, the steward was later relieved by a much shorter guy who, without being asked, immediately adopted a squatting position which meant that the view was not obscured.

So was the first guy just being an arse?

I had the same problem with the 2nd leg game against Wigan when I was in the school end near the front with the steward standing up. He got so much stick he he just sat on the floor.

My favourite part was his remark when challenged about obscuring our view. He told me he was there to save my life.

Put these muppets in a hi-vis jacket and they think they rule the world. One of the reasons I always sit at the back of Z3...

Whether true or not I was informed on Saturday by a fellow supporter that Rangers have spent in excess of £200,000 on payouts to Supporters who have been wrongfully evicted. If true and what has been said above, there needs to be some dialogue between the club and the company supplying the stewards who obviously do not know what they are doing.

If someone wasn't a bit of a **** they probably wouldn't be a football steward in the first place.

Before the Chelsea game, I was stood on the S.A. Road by the players entrance and an Eastern European steward told me to "get off the road". I informed him the road was a public place and nothing to do with him. They certainally know how to rub people up the wrong way.

That's a pretty damning indictment of both the steward's behaviour and the club trying to defend the indefensible. The second item where there were nine witness statements, including other stewards, and it being dragged out for so long is beyond incompetent. It seems common sense is beyond some of these idiots...

This club needs full scale, repeated and brutal colonic irrigation.

You should have given him a loaf and fish at half time. He could have fed the whole stadium

I have a feeling that's not far off - and that it might not be pleasant.
