Both lambert and Barnard are unproven at Championship level and Connoly is injury prone. New striker needed - preferably with champoinship goal behind him.:smiley-finger007:
 
Don't worry Lambert, Connolly and Barnard will all score in the Championship. Although there are some good sides which will make promotion a challenge, there are also sides who struggled themselves last year. We had a storming finish to last season, so we just need to keep making the progress this year. Of course, we'd like another striker because it will be a long season including cup games, but the ones we have will score.
 
I dont think that there will be much difference in the defences from league 1 to the championship. They maybe a bit better but thats it. Only when we get to the prem is when it changes alot.
 
there is not too big a difference between league 1 and championship. A good striker will score where ever. An example Grant Holt - as much as i dislike him, he spent most of his career in lower leagues but adapted fine last year. as will Lambert etc.

Channonscaddie - if you are a Saint then dont worry - i am sure Adkins will have all angles covered. If you are a WUM then worry about your own strikers especially now Nugents gone
 
Yeah someone who is quick and a poacher. It's a shame we seem to have been priced out of a move for Maynard as I think he's exactly what we need. I don't think Jutkiewicz is the kind of player we need :/

I would be concerned if we signed Jutkiewicz. Hes is good, but a back up at best. We need to be setting are sights higher.
 
Sign gignac... Have team of year edition of him on ultimate team... Can score from anywhere lmao na but seriously I think we will get a foreign striker
 
I can't really see Ricky or Barny scoring 20+ goals a season at this level, so yes, we need a striker.

That aside, if we hold on to Chamberlain, that'd be better than any signing we might make.
 
Grant Holt and Bechhio both scored more than 20 goals last season in the first season in the Championship.
 
Funny how people are so quick to change there views on soton having the best partnership of league 1 with barny n lambert to panicing that we need a striker!! Ok we Idealy need pace but this is about consolidation n mid table safety which will easily get!! We have a brilliant midfield giving lambet n barny great service aswell as adding slot of goals too
